This scene was inspired by this snippet of @madameazzure´s creation:
M sucked in a breath, startled, as he felt something cold pressed to his nape. He looked up to see Muzaka hold out a cold can of coke to him. He had been so lost in his thoughts he didn’t even notice him approach.
“Thinkin’, kid?” he asked.
“Yeah,” M admited, accepting the can with a soft ‘thank you’ as Muzaka took a seat next to him on the porch, opening his own can and taking a sip.
M did not do the same, choosing to fiddle with the can as his thoughts drifted back to what had happened, to what Muzaka had done, to what could they do to get out of this mess, and he couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by it all.
“What you did was stupid,” he finally said after a few moments of silence.
“Mhm!” Muzaka replied nonchalantly, drinking his coke as if he didn’t have a care in the world.
“Really, really stupid.”
“Yeeep.”
“You didn’t think this through.”
“I did.”
“Then why did you –“
Muzaka shrugged. “Felt like the right thing to do.”
“Was it really?”
“Yeah,” Muzaka said and ruffled the child’s hair. “I’d do it all in a heartbeat.”
A bit of context: runaway lone wolf Muzaka trying to bond with the younger runaway lone wolf M by sharing runaways anecdotes.
