CHARACTERS

PROTAGONIST: Leigh Ramirez

Leigh is a 30 year old Filipino-American based in Los Angeles, who is a successful musician, and is also a leader of an organization that helps struggling artists. She is often praised by her colleagues for always being organized and productive. She’s continuously benefiting from these positive traits, because her last 3 albums have been really successful and received multiple awards. Her organization is also recognized worldwide and has helped thousands of struggling artists. She is a force to be reckoned with, because she knows what it feels like to be an outcast in the music industry. During her early years as a singer, she has been constantly faced with sexism. People would constantly say that she’s only successful because she has a pretty face, and nothing more. They also said that she always makes songs about her past experiences, but they never say these things to male artists who do the same thing. But despite these experiences, she is in a long-term relationship with her loving boyfriend, Brendan Yakuza, who is a famous gamer and guitarist. Leigh is living her best life as an artist and as an organization leader, but everything changes when her record label sells her masters to a well-known music producer without her knowledge.

SUPPORTING CHARACTER: Maya Parker

Maya is a 27-year-old American who has been writing with Leigh since the beginning of her career. She has been very supportive of Leigh in every aspect of her life – she sees her as an older sister. Maya has always been rich and everything was handed to her on a silver platter, but despite her massive fortune, she remains kind and humble. The success she has as a songwriter is all because of her hardwork and her talent. She’s very in demand in the music industry right now – but she would rather write with her best friend, Leigh. One of her best attributes is her loyalty to her friends, which is why she is still in touch with so many of them after all these years, despite her busy schedule. Leigh Ramirez is a famous musician and organization leader who lives in Los Angeles. She has always fought for artists that are struggling to get their name in the industry. She is often praised by her colleagues for always being organized and productive. She’s continuously benefiting from these positive traits, because her last 3 albums have been really successful and received multiple awards. Her organization is also recognized worldwide and has helped thousands of struggling artists. Her best friend, Maya Parker, writes with her and also helps her with her organization. Despite facing criticism from the general public and tabloids, she is living her best life, thanks to the unwavering support of her long-time partner, Brendan Yakuza. Leigh doesn’t realize that her entire life is about to change when her record label sells her masters to a famous music producer without her consent. She panics at this information, not knowing what to do. She poured her heart and soul into these records, so she finds a way to get them back with the help of her best friend, Maya. Through Maya’s connections in the industry, they are steps closer to getting Leigh’s masters back. Unfortunately, the music producer’s legal team is just as good as Leigh’s. At first, they encounter difficulties, but they persistently fight back. LOGLINE
