I just saw the tags on that Joker pic you reblogged. Honestly when I saw that first pic of the CM I thought it was a Joker concept for like 10 seconds? Fancy + purple + showy + creepy, not to mention the removable face thing, I mean there's a whole arc where the Joker has his face off. (I may have a thing for fancy villains who wear purple a lot, see Mr. Underbed).

ffffff omg i can honestly say i had no idea iM DYING!  I mainly know batman through cultural osmosis, i’m not really in the fandom. From what i’ve heard of the joker tho, his general MO could not be more different from that of the CM (maybe that explains why i never realized they look so alike???)For characters i will openly admit to having had an influence on the cardmaster, see: - Pearl (Steven Universe) - pearl is mischance change my mind -Jareth (Labyrith) - o b v i o u s-…and Sauron? - this one is a stretch but hEAR ME OUT: control freak, magical science/tech, former no.1 follower/partner of a fabulously Extra chaotic dark lord, now running things on their own and maintaining sanity primarily through god-tier compartmentalisation,,,,,,,it checks out OK. but yeah none of those characters really look like the cardmaster as much as the joker does (tho that one time pearl wore a tux was close)

(Also, I agree. fancy villains who wear purple are 👌👌👌. tho i should clarify: the Cardmaster doesn’t wear purple especially more than other colours. it’s more just: is the colour saturation on this article of clothing enough to dye an entire household’s worth of sox in the wash? yes? then he would wear it. )
