Me? Actually really enjoying a book I'm reading in English? Pretty likely apparently!

#maybe my teacher last year just ended up picking all the books that did not vibe well with me by accident #but this year so far I've read the great gatsby and am currently reading all the light we cannot see #and while the great gatsby isn't anywhere near my favorite book #I still enjoyed it far more than say 1984 or Into the Wild (both were required readings for me in past English classes) #and I'm thoroughly enjoying all the light we cannot see #like #fall break is coming up and I am absolutely gonna spend a lot of time reading that book #maybe the difference is I get to choose these books #(they're required readings in class from a list but in small groups we get to decide which ones we wanna read at the time) #whereas my last English teacher (who I still really liked!!) assigned us books without letting us choose #actually that theory makes a lot of sense #because the one time he DID let us choose a book to read in small groups I really liked the book #and may go back and reread it #meanwhile Into the Wild and 1984 I'd be willing to set on fire #the Devil's Highway was alright but I just wasn't that invested in it #and The Tipping Point was a nightmare book with how mind numbingly boring it was but I'd still read it over Into the Wild #anyways!! #amber's shit you can ignore
