HARRY'S ATTACK ON US POLITICS: Prince Harry, 37, waded into US politics once again this week during his keynote speech to a mostly-empty room at the UN General Assembly for Nelson Mandela Day in New York City on Monday.
The Prince launched an attack on American politics, specifically regarding the Supreme Court's Roe v Wade ruling last month that handed abortion rights back to individual states, claiming it was part of a 'global assault on democracy and freedom' along with climate change and Russia's invasion of the Ukraine. It comes after his wife Meghan told how the Duke had a 'gutteral' reaction to the Supreme Court's bombshell overturning of Roe v Wade last month.
Theres a little merching in this paragraph* The couple put on a united front as they arrived to the event hand in hand. It was the first time they had been seen since seen in public since jetting to the UK to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee last month, where they kept a low profile. The Duchess of Sussex, 40, who shares Archie, three, and Lilibet, one, with the Duke of Sussex, donned a $1,590 Givenchy patch pocket skirt. With her hair pulled back into a ponytail, Meghan looked typically stylish in her statement garment from the French brand, which she teamed with a simple black blouse, Manolo Blahnik heels and a matching Mulberry handbag.
Both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who were invited by the Nelson Mandela Foundation, ignored questions about the impact of Tom Bower's book Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsor's, where it is said Harry's Eton pals called him 'nuts' for dating Meghan. They glanced over at UN correspondent for Voice of American Margaret Besheer but quickly turned away when she asked, asked: 'Are you worried that Tom Bower's new book is going to widen your rift with the Royal Family?'.

Interestingly enough today with all the other royal stories floating around, CBC news (Canada) (CBC.ca) is reporting (with cost breakdown from the RCMP under the access to information act) the total security bill of protecting Harry (and Meghan) before marriage and after including Megsxit : $334,000.00 (which does not include police officers salaries). Another tumblr rumour confirmation in the article was Harry’s detour to visit Meghan on his way back from the Diamond jubilee Caribbean tour in December 2016 ( a big no no for it adds extra security costs all around). The reporter who wrote the article is Elizabeth Thompson- sorry I am not great at linking in tumblr. :)
Like anon said, another Tumblr rumor confirmed.
Nice use of tax payer £ eh?

I don't really understand why she would care that much about being a UK citizen, but maybe some titles and privileges depend on citizenship. —— Oh, good point! I didn’t consider that the lack of UK citizenship could impact her Megsxit deal... but you could be right! Given that the govt is now involved in the negotiations, maybe H&Ms plan has hit a few extra snags that they didn’t anticipate + those snags are impacting the goodies they can get.... 🤔
That’s my thinking. A lot of stuff probably got fast-tracked or swept under the carpet when she got married, likely because they thought she would eventually become a citizen and it wouldn’t be a problem.

Unbelievable.
Prince Harry to address UN. Prince Harry will address the United Nations in New York City next week.
"The Duke of Sussex will be joined by his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, on Monday (18.07.22) when he gives as speech as part of Nelson Mandela Day to an informal General Assembly gathering, with him reportedly planning to talk about the impact of climate change and world hunger."
"In 2019, Harry and Meghan - who have children Archie, three, and Lili, 13 months, together - met Mandela's widow, Graca Machel, during a visit to South Africa and are believed to have wanted to honour the late activist since then.
Grace said to the couple during their meeting: "It's wonderful meeting you. I'm sure we're going to be working together in the future. I can feel the vibe." (feel the vibe? Is it 1960 again?)
During the trip, the couple also met Mandela's granddaughter, Zamaswazi Dlamini-Mandela and his former cellmate Andrew Mlangeni."

H's lawsuit updates from Chris Ship. I think he's pissed off the judge, already.
After the political crisis, just catching up on the Prince Harry court case this morning over the removal of his security arrangements in the UK. His lawyers told the High Court Harry thought it was an “independent decision" but later found out the Royal Household was involved.
Sir James Eadie QC for the Home Office said Harry’s request for a judicial review of the Ravec decision should be denied because “tensions”between him and the Household are “irrelevant to the undisputed fact of [his] change in status” from working Royal to non-working Royal.
Home Office earlier told the court that Harry’s offer to pay for security is not the issue: “Personal protective security by the police is not available on a privately financed basis and Ravec does not make decisions…on the basis that any financial contribution could be sought”.

Despite the palace wanting nothing to do with H&M, everyone is talking about their reception. They've been omitted from more events than I knew were happening. It's very cold in their little world.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are So Far Enduring an Ice-Cold Platinum Jubilee
Tom Sykes - Yesterday 6:49 PM
Instead, Harry and Meghan have been firmly treated as rather unimportant, second-class guests. Having apparently been strongly urged to do nothing to steal Her Majesty’s limelight they have had little choice other than to like it or lump it, as the old British saying goes.
The fact that they are so desperately unpopular in Britain that their ratings are in the toilet and on Friday they were subjected to audible boos amongst the more usual cheers when they arrived at St Paul’s Cathedral is likely to have made this ruthless strategic decision by the palace somewhat easier.
At the church service, the couple were seated across the aisle from Charles (representing the queen, who was too unwell to attend) and William, a long, long way, physically and spiritually, from the new nexus of royal power. Their seat mates were not future kings and queens of the United Kingdom but a collection of second division players; Beatrice, Eugenie, Prince Edward et al.
After Friday’s service, and some careful choreography that avoided even the merest possibility of Sussex and Cambridge entering each other’s personal space or even making eye contact, the great and the good were whisked off to London’s Guildhall to hobnob and backslap, with the notable exception of Harry and Meghan, who, were back at their house in Windsor, Frogmore Cottage, before the last stragglers had left the shindig.

This hack didn't bother to Google anything. His background info is mostly wrong or backwards. He also said "virtual sisters" & it's "virtual strangers".
Meghan Markle’s Sister’s New Court Demands Could Lead To Hours-Long Deposition
Matthew Radulski - Monday
"The divorce was finalized a few years after that. For a while, Meghan was close to both her parents. Her father was invited to her wedding to Prince Harry, but then everything changed. Thomas hired paparazzi to snap photos of him around Britain and began leaking Meghan’s letters to the press against her wishes. He’s now one of Meghan’s most ardent critics."
"Samantha is taking umbrage with Meghan’s comment about the two being “virtual sisters,” and she’s accusing Meghan of bogusly propagating a rags-to-riches story."

OMG, It's awful
Aloha with Love, staring & executive produced by one of my fav actors Trevor Donavon. The female lead is Tiffany Smith who played Meghan Markle in the last of the sleezy Lifetime movies. I cannot finish the movie. It's like having PTSD, she popped up on the screen & I began yelling. Literally turning off the movie after 5 minutes. This sucks for me & maybe for Trevor too. It was on UPTV, which sucks anyway. I wonder if the ratings were any good. Good Lord it's gonna take me a minute to wash my eye out.

Lookie what Omid posted today
Omid Scobie@scobie·17mIn honor of #BlackHistoryMonth , Duchess Meghan has contributed to an op-ed written by @AnitaHill on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s historic nomination to the US Supreme Court Hill says she reached out to Meghan for the article because she could “see a measure of parallelism given her experience navigating uncharted territory as a Black woman.”

Poor snowflake now has a friend at Cosmo mag. It's always someone else's fault that he looks stupid.

Prince Harry Says Tabloid Has Caused Him "Hurt, Embarrassment and Distress" in New Court Documents (msn.com)
In new court documents related to the ongoing dispute, Prince Harry said that articles published by the Mail on Sunday have caused "serious damage to his reputation and substantial hurt, embarrassment and distress which is continuing" (per Variety).
The new documents are related to a case Harry filed earlier this year against the British paper over articles the outlet published about his ongoing fight to get the British government to provide official security for him and his family when they're in the United Kingdom. Specifically, Harry is pushing back against claims made by the Mail on Sunday that he had lied about offering to pay for the security costs himself and that misleading reports like those "manipulate and confuse public opinion" against him.
In the lawsuit, Harry explains that the misleading reports are damaging because they "constitute an attack on his honesty and integrity and undermine his fitness to be involved both in charitable and philanthropic work in general, and in efforts to tackle online misinformation in particular (through the Archewell Foundation)."

Tina Brown's new book, The Palace Papers may be a juicy new read.
Tina Brown’s royal revelations spare no one, especially Meghan Markle (msn.com)
Markle was a wrecking ball masquerading as a smiley face emoji, impatient to bend one of history’s fustiest institutions to her iron will.
She and Harry, set up by a mutual friend, had much in common, according to Brown; troubled childhoods, a fondness for nourishing grievances and what a palace staffer described to Brown as “a mutual ‘addiction to drama.’ ” Markle was sixth on the call sheet of a basic cable show, something Harry, who was bumped further down the line of succession with each new Cambridge baby, could sympathize with, Brown writes: He was sixth on the call sheet, too.
At a Royal Foundation event spearheaded by her more awkward sister-in-law, Meghan, an assured public speaker, “hogg[ed]” the spotlight, Brown writes. She even went off-script with a passionate, attention-grabbing speech about female empowerment “as Harry looked on with awe and his brother and Kate stood by with expressionless irritation.”

Love Jan Moir's comment.
"Everyone knows the person the Queen is most in need of safeguarding from is Harry himself, the man who has single-handedly done the most damage to the British monarchy since Oliver Cromwell."
