honestly i feel like the culture of sequels has rotted peoples ability to enjoy a story on its own, to enjoy something for what it is and to enjoy their own interpretation for it rather than being spoonfed sequels after sequels

#definitely about stray #i adore stray but the number of people begging for DLC or sequels instead of enoying the story for what it is??? #it just feel bitter ngl #one of the reasons why i liked stray is that it leaves a story on an open note #where the audience can decide what happens after the city is opened and thats beauty in ambiguity #and seeing people wanting dlc and sequels just kinda ruins that #im not against sequels as a whole like hell i adore silent hill 2 im no hypocrit #but money grabbing sequels as a whole have completely changed how we as a culture appreciate stories and art in their own right #whatever happened to audiences having a mind of their own? to appreciate that sense of it? #money grabbing sequels and audiences demanding to be spoonfed answers instead of interpreting narrative for themselves #has rotted a generation #at this point seeing whole and complete narratives without any dlc or sequels in mind is rare these days in the age of franchising #and the fact that people cant even appreciate that without demanding more just it kinda makes me sad yknow?
