My opinion on Apollo/Reyna

Hi guys, it's been some time.

I want to talk about this as the release date of TtT gets closer (for you only😭).

I know that a lot of people despite this ship so much and some of you love it, and honestly I don't know how to feel.

The age gap thing

I don't know how to react to the age gap thing... I always thought Apollo was the teen god, the one who is always 16/17 (he's beardless and has long hair in statues or paintings) and also, he's mortal right now.

Some of you have serious issues with that tho. I don't how to feel about that I'm confused.

This shit

The thing about Reyna having to be the StRonG IndEpeNt wOmaN (because apparently women are somehow weakened or degraded by relationships) irritates me BIG TIME, so I won't touch the subject.

Some bigger shit

Same about Apollo haVinG to bE witH A mAn because otherwise it's not real bisexual rep. NO.

The supposed fan service

Some fans seem to think it is very fanservice, and I thought that too but I'm not convinced anymore. Honestly most people HATE this ship😂

Whom he's supposed to please with Apolleyna...Reypollo...? ApoRe... WHATEVER.

The Apollo-haters

Others (and that's the biggest group I think) just seem to ADORE LOVE WORSHIP Reyna, so they think Apollo doesn't deserve her, our queen deserves better, he ain't shit etc etc. Well, some of you follow me and knows how much I love mr. Apollo, and I feel the need to defend him right now.

FIRST OF ALL HE'S THE ONE WHO DESERVES BETTER AND YOU BITCHES DON'T UNDERSTAND HIM, HE'S AMAZINGLY PERFECT REYNA ISN'T WORTHY.

Put my fangirl side apart, I can kinda understand why they feel defensive about their favorite character ending up with Apollo. He's a god after all and they aren't known for their commitment. I would still marry him like, tomorrow, but that's not the point.

PROS

I think they have a lot in common:

- They both have a difficult history with their fathers.

-They both really need someone to talk to so badly (no offense to Meg but she's not the best listener out there).

-They will both suffer a lot for Jason and Apollo is the one who can tell her exactly how it went.

-Their relationship with love is complicated at best.

They need each other to heal: she needs someone who is more mature than an average 16 year old boy but who is still capable of relating to her and he needs a friend older than twelve (sorry Meg).

CONS

They are still too different in any way possible. An immortal-mortal relationship isn't going to end well. Rick would use the "she's strong and cool and he's an idiot" trope and I CANNOT bear it. We must protect Apollo at all costs.

In Conclusion

I think they'll have a beautiful, deep and healing friendship.

It's also possible that Reyna will convince herself he is the one Aphrodite was talking about and that she'll develop a crush at some point, only to understand everything between them is platonic, but this is just a little sub plot.
