Ada @witcheyedcrow sent a meme: ❛  you want me, right? so hurt me, and leave them alone!  ❜
Tumblr media
Eskel felt how the despair bubbled in his chest, and the shame he felt about being wounded, not fatally so, but enough to render him helpless for a while. Ada was unharmed, which was his priority—but as far as he knew she was just as helpless.
“Ada, no,” he groaned as he fought to get back up on his feet.
His whole body hurt and the blood pumping through his veins also squirted out of a deep wound in his side. He knew he would bleed out if he didn't heal himself. He had potions. But he needed to live long enough to kill the threat, save Ada.
He couldn't do it for Deidre, but he sure as hell would do it now or die trying.
“You run,” he told her, staring in her purple eyes, “and you will do it now.”
Eskel tumbled as he reached for his Chaos, the power he wasn't able to control. If he'd die saving Ada, at least he paid the debts. At first the ground only subtly started to emit smoke but the more Eskel pulled on the strings of Chaos, flames shot out of the soil, running and circling around the enemy. Eskel didn't even know who they were and he didn't care. He would only care enough to make sure they would never touch his child again.
He got dizzy, pulling harder on Chaos until the Frist figure ignited like fireworks and their body burst before Eskel had to do anymore.
He hadn't used fire magic in decades, it would be impossible to come out of this alive. He would set the world ablaze if that meant Ada would live.
“I told you to fuckin' run!” he barked, while now visibly struggling to stay upright. The pool of blood around him grew and grew.

A surprise.
(It is my little joke about Yennefer and Jaskier. It has nothing related to the books canon, it is about series. I'm not native speaker, so, please, excuse me my mistakes) .
***
Geralt impatiently opened the beat-up envelope he got 30 minutes ago from some strange girl. There was not a single word written on this envelope, but by the small symbol drawn in the corner the Witcher recognized that the letter was from Vesemir. Familiar Illegible handwriting confirmed his conjecture.
"There's something wrong about the sorceress. She was very grim-looking for some time, even stopped her mission for almost a week. Didn't left her room for days. Then she took our house and left all alone "for some private business" as she said. She was absent for 10 days. Now she is back. Looks happy. And now she fills her mission without even a 5 minutes break. Her mission object soon will be totally exhausted from this. I find it quite suspicious."
Geralt frowned, crumpled the letter and threw it to the fire. Yennefer is surely a mind of her own. Geralt trusts her, but the same time he knows well - he can't put anything past her. It's Yen. You can expect everything from her.
In a couple of days the Witcher was back at Kaer Morhen. He needed to check the situation by himself and it was a good reason to visit Ciri, Jaskier and his witcher brothers.
Geralt found Yennefer and Ciri studying a huge dusty book in the main hall. Ciri looked good but very sleepy and tired from reading, Yennefer looked astonishingly beautiful. She glowed even more than usual. After short hugs and greetings Geralt let Ciri go to take a break for a while, and left alone with Yennefer.
Geralt: Nice to see you again.
Yennefer: Me too. -She smiled but was keeping pretty distant toward him. It was flourishing spring and Yen was dressed in milk-white loose long dress with sleeves resembling a butterfly wing. Wide V-shaped neckline emphasized beauty of her swan neck even more.
Geralt: How's going with teaching Ciri?
Yennefer: It's quite right. She's a quick learner, but too lazy sometimes. And you? Have you found that Firefucker?
Geralt: Almost.
Yennefer: Almost doesn't count. Sure you don't need a help? I may ask some friends of mine to help your searching.
Geralt: You know, I prefer act alone.
Geralt made a step towards Yennefer and looked at her face very attentively. She was absolutely the same as several months ago when he left in search of Rience, the same as 3, 5, 10 years ago. But his witcher senses told him that something has changed in Yennefer of Vengerberg. He just failed to determine what exactly it was.
Geralt: And how are you? - His voice turned softer.
Yennefer: Better than ever before.
And it was true. All her looking proved that statement.
Geralt: I've heard you traveled somewhere.
Yennefer: I did. Are you suspicious or jealous?
Geralt: Neither. I'm just surprised.
Yennefer: Vesemir reported you. So predictable of him. However, for the better. I was going to write you myself.
Geralt: Now I'm surprised even more.
Yennefer: Not enough yet.
Geralt: What?!
Yennefer: I will not be able to teach Ciri as long as you want me to. I have...some circumstances of my own. So, I have to teach her everything I planned by the autumn or we need to find another teacher for her.
Geralt: Why?! Are you leaving?
Yennefer: I carry a child, Geralt.
Witcher choked on his own breath. He looked at Yennefer with eyes full of astonishment mixed with disbelief. Then he gave himself another thought of what he have just heard and relaxed.
Geralt: Oh no, Yen, don't joke this way.
He smiled and almost laughed at himself. He should have understood immediately that it's a just a cruel trick.
But Yennefer didn't look funny at all. She looked confident.
Geralt:It's impossible, you're infertile... Sorry to say that again.
Yennefer: I thought so too. Until the moment it became obvious.
Yen put her arms on her waist, making her loose dress fit her body and showing a very little yet but already noticeable belly.
Geralt jumped like a scared jackrabbit.
Geralt: No! No! No! That's impossible!
Yennefer: Stop yelling, Witcher.
Geralt: No! There's no way for a sorceress to become a mother. It's a mistake. Maybe you just...
Yennefer: Is it YOU telling me that? Don't you think I don't know your mother was a sorceress?
Geralt didn't reply, he didn't care where from Yennefer learned about his mother. He just pulled his arms trying to touch Yens' belly and check if it's true. Yennefer stepped back and didn't let him.
Yennefer: And, please, don't yell anymore.
I don't want others to join our conversation.
Geralt: A conversation?! ...Yen, how?! HOW. CAN. IT. BE?!
Yennefer: I don't know really. I guess, it may have happened after we traveled to another Sphere. Or more likely, when my Chaos got back to me, it also gave me back my ability to become a mother.
Geralt: How it can be possible?
Yennefer: You know, my first night in Aretuza I was sure that it was impossible for me to survive that night. But here I am... Then they told me that it's impossible to go through the sorceress transformation withought anaesthesia elixir. I went through the hell, but I did it. I used to think, that a mage can never loose his magic. But I lost mine. And now I've got everything back. EVERYTHING. Right the time when I finally have forgotten about my wish. So don't you tell me what is possible and what is not... Maybe Chaos decided that if i was ready to give away my life for Ciri, I deserve giving life to someone else. I don't know. And don't care, honestly. I'm just happy about it.
Geralt was silent for several minutes and did his best to realize everything he just have learned.
Geralt: But wait...you... At least you needed a man...And here there's nobody except stinky witchers, and they're all sterile, and Ciri and Jaskier... JASKIER!
Yennefer smiled and took her seat.
Geralt: Jaskier! ... It's even more impossible.
Yennefer: He is a real treasure. It was my biggest mistake to underestimate him.
Geralt: I will kill him!
Geralt can't calm down and just kept going back and forth like a monster trapped in a cage. Shocking news one by one. He almost was ready to believe in Yens' pregnancy, but thinking of Yennefer and Jaskier being lovers was just unbearable. A nonsense.
Geralt:Did you put him under your spell?
Yennefer: I swear, I will turn you into a turkey-cock, if you dare to say so again. Do you think he can't just..like me?!...
Geralt: Then I will definitely kill him!
Yennefer: He is the most tender, most caring and the most sincere man I ever met in my long life... We felt close to each other in Oxenfurt already. And here in Kaer Morhen we finally have got the opportunity to learn one another better.
Geralt: But he always was scared of you!
Yennefer: He is the only man who doesn't only react on my physical appearance, he really understands me now. He sees me not only as a powerful mage or an attractive woman, he really knows who I am.
Geralt: You two have nothing common!
Yennefer: He has seen me happy and sad, strong and weak, shining and dirty, calm and angry, and he just... takes me whichever I am. He is always near to support and comfort me. And I feel so truly happy everytime he is around.
"Yennefer" - a familiar sweat voice called from outside the castle.
In a moment the bard appeared on the doorstep with twigs full of honeysuckle berries in his hands.
Jaskier: Oh, Geralt, my friend! Hello! Didn't know you were coming! How are you?! I saw an unknown horse outside and got worried about Yennefer... and the others too.
Jaskier came to Geralt and tapped him on the shoulder.
Jaskier: You look knackered, buddy. Don't be so silent, tell us how are you! Have you found the Firefucker? Oh, we have so many things to tell you too!
Geralt made no sound and frowned. Tension in the air was so tight that it could be cut by a knife.
Jaskier: Oh! Oh!...Oh...You're already told him...
Geralt: Jaskier! How?! You were afraid of her! You used to call her a fury, an insane witch!
Jaskier: I still agree, but one small and very significant remark - a very sexy insane witch. She's, oh, so...SO! You know, I just can't help falling for her.
Jaskier came close to Yennefer, leaned over and gave her the berries, which he still was holding. Then he pressed a kiss to the top of her head, straightened up, tenderly put his hands on Yen's elegant shoulders. Yennefer detached one berry and put it her mouth.
