My wife and I have been intermittently developing this whole Evangelion/Madoka Magica crossover AU. We haven't actually written anything but will have long conversation worldbuilding it and I wanna share some of it.

The basic premise is at the end of PMMM, Homura keeps doing time bullshit and reality goddess Madoka keeps having the to rewrite the universe to the point, somehow, Adam, Lillith, the angels etc are retroactively created.

The status quo of the world now is that of NGE but also Different. It's a post second impact world with angel attacks and Evas and all but also there's Kyubeys and magical girls and wraiths (or maybe its circled back to witches again idk).

There are 7 Eva pilots: Shinji, Rei, Asuka, Mami, Sayaka, Kyoko, and Homura. Madoka still only exists as an abstract concept and only Homura remembers her and the world the way it was before. She is also still doing time shit to try and "save" Madoka, but more subtle now.

The Kyubeys are around and are approaching some of all of the seven pilots to become magical girls. This does not only include Shinji, but they especially want him as he keeps seeing visions of this pink haired girl. The Kyubeys don't remember Madoka but they know from visions others have had, this pink haired girl is somehow fundamental to reality.

Homura does not see the Madoka visions and HATES Shinji because he does.

IDK who all of the seven eventually do become magical girls or how the Kyubeys and angels are related (if at all), but yeah that's the set up basically.

Also this hypothetical story wouldn't be just a shallow crossover or something. In our heads it's still supposed to be a serious story with themes of alienation and depression and desperation and all that fun stuff. The general world building is just mainly what we've focused on.
