I’m not one to call out corporations, but I feel the need to express my thoughts and feelings NOW. @urbanoutfitters fuck you and all the cultural appropriation shit you have done in the past. From selling Ethiopian traditional garbs to now making african print patchwork pants. African designers have been wearing /making these clothes for decades and for you to economically and culturally exploit for the sake of increasing your seasonal profit margins is distasteful especially for the preservation of local and artisanal cultural heritage in Africa and other marginalized cultures. Also it looks shitty and the fabric is just bad. Y’all got money at least make 100% cotton. @teyanataylor, sweetie you opened a nail salon in Harlem , did it not cross your mind to reach out to the african vendors there for this and support them ? Yet you reach out to urban outfitters. Extremely disappointed .
