Faerene's adoptive father was a well-respected duke out of Baldur's Gate and a wizard of considerate talent; no wonder, for arcane acuity ran deep in the Rosenhall bloodline. After the death of his late wife, Erendev took it upon himself to raise the little fey foundling on his own, striving to provide her with excellent tuition and a comfortable life. But family curses seldom like being ignored - as was the duke's aunt, a powerful hag in disguise, ready to remind him.
