I swear people who complained Vol 9 is a filler are the same people who complained Team RWBY not getting much character focus and development (especially Ruby)

there's no satisfying some people (and i guarantee 'focus and development' would probably have only meant 'directly fighting the bad guys for 9 episodes straight and getting ridiculous shonen anime upgrades that come out of nowhere')

#rwb/y #oh no the character driven story throws the main characters into a scenario where they are detached from the rest of the cast #and the on-going plotline #and they have to deal with their personal issues which more pressing concerns have prevented them from doing up to this point #no story has EVER done that! #except for in FFVII when Tifa and Cloud have to put Cloud's brain back together after he goes catatonic #or in AtLA with Aang and the Lion Turtle #or in Tales of Berseria where the party get stranded in another dimension and Phi has to call Velvet out on her shit #or in The Owl House where the kids got stuck on Earth for several months with no idea how to get back to the Boiling Isles
