I for one, think that it would be absolutely hilarious if Sungchul started flirting with Nicholas (making him blush and smile all shyly from the attention) causing Seiji to silently fume in jealousy on the side (whether he realizes he likes Nicholas or not!).
Seiji snaps when Sungchul offers to teach Nicholas how to flèche 👀🤭🤺

Watch me re-learn Japanese just to write a fence fic lmao 😆👀😳📝📚✨
WHERE’S MY JAPANESE SPEAKING SEIJI??
Sure we’ve got French speaking Seiji and I can accept him gaining fluency from his year abroad (immersion is a fantastic language learning method) but come on he’s likely been speaking Japanese at home all his life (in conjunction to English) if he’s grown up in a traditional Asian household. There’s so much potential there!
Where’s the snide comments in Japanese? The mutterings of expressions that can’t directly be translated into English? Noises of surprise and other reactions that come from a specific language or culture?
I wanna write Seiji ramming his toe into a corner and yelping 「痛い!」 or “itai” which basically means “ouch” lol.
Think about it…
Nicholas finding himself attracted to Seiji’s voice when he speaks in Japanese? His voice pitching slightly lower than it sounds in English? Seiji blatantly flirting with Nicholas in a language he doesn’t understand? And then immediately insulting him afterwards in English? The delicious tension between the two that can be read in almost any language?
I’m dusting off my old textbooks for this. I need this like I need air.

A small crumb of a Fence fic I’m working on :)
“Tell me about your relationship with Jesse.” Seiji asked, walking in step beside Nicholas.
“This again?” The other boy groaned as the two made their way back to their shared dorm.
“…I thought we made progress on how much you trust me.” Seiji grumbled, the edges of his mouth pressed into a familiar frown.
“And you thought suddenly bringing this up wouldn’t affect your friendship points with me?”
“Friendship points?” His nose scrunched in the most Seiji-esque of ways.
Nicholas exhaled slowly, trying to smother the irritation skimming his nerves. “Yeah, Seiji. This is like, a level ten secret and you’re only at level two, maybe three,” he countered.
“Then how do I bring up these… ‘friendship points’ so to speak?”
“You can’t rush friendship.” Nicholas retorted, but there was something left unsaid that made Seiji look him in the eyes thoughtfully. Whether there was a glimmer of irritation or something else though, Nicholas didn’t hold that gaze long enough to see.
Seiji stared for a moment, before pulling out his dorm key and unlocking the door, oddly allowing Nicholas to swoop in the doorway as he pondered his next words.
“But?” He finally decided on—a single word—extending the conversation.
Nicholas dropped his bags, sweatshirt halfway pulled off his body with his hand on the bathroom doorknob. “But? I thought this conversation was over!” He turned around to look at Seiji, who just stood still in the middle of the room with an intense gaze in his eyes.
Seiji slipped his bag off of his shoulder, answering bluntly. “Yes Nicholas, ‘but’ is a conjunction used to combine two or more independent clauses together.”
“What’s with the sudden English lesson!” He cried in exasperation.
“It sounded like you had something more to say,” Seiji shrugged, taking off his shoes and pulling out clean clothes to change into. “I just thought I’d do it for you.”
Nicholas huffed, tugging his sweatshirt off all the way, tossing it on his desk as he considered Seiji’s comment. Instead of reaching for the doorknob, he turned around, crossing his arms as he slumped against the bathroom door. Seiji’s eyebrow raised, waiting expectantly for him to answer.
Nicholas thought for a moment, letting his head drop to the side as he gazed in the direction of his most prized possession, the little scrap of newspaper with his dad’s winning article on it encased in a protective sleeve under his mattress.
This wasn’t the kind of secret where you could say it and nothing would change, because it was life-altering to know; even if the facts didn’t change, Seiji definitely would. There was absolutely no way that this knowledge wouldn’t reshape the way he saw Nicholas—his worldview of the boy would be so utterly changed! Nicholas didn’t want that.
But…
It would be nice. He supposed, to have someone by his side, apart from his complicated relationship with his mom.
But Seiji was… he swallowed, closing his eyes at the tiny flutter in his chest. Somebody he didn’t want to lose, not after they’d become rivals, and even more so as friends and… whatever that thing was that happened with the tennis ball in the salle. He opened his eyes and shifted his gaze to the other side, earnestly considering what to do. Seiji seemed so pleased that Nicholas was thinking hard about the suggestion, that he allowed him a moment of respite as he continued to get ready for his post-training routine, occasionally glancing at Nicholas’s face as he pondered and bit his dry chapped lips.
Why couldn’t Seiji just let it go? Why didn’t Nicholas do the sensible thing and put up a damn boundary? He lied when he said it was a level ten friendship secret—as arbitrary as that system was—it was a fucking nuclear S-tier secret and Nicholas just knew it’d break his heart if Seiji was let in on the one secret he had and let it intensify his obsession with finding Jesse in him.
Seiji would never see, “Nicholas Cox, his ridiculously fast rival who almost got Seiji’s fourth”—No! Nicholas would be:
“The Coste bastard child and Jesse’s younger brother.”
He didn’t want that. Nicholas was his own person, and he’d really hoped Seiji would come around to see that.
His chest hurt.
But secrets changed people, the longer they were kept hidden. How long could he theoretically keep that up with no one in his lonely corner? It’d be nice to have someone, even with a bright blue and yellow ducky curtain hanging in the middle…
Groaning in frustration, Nicholas banged his head against the bathroom door, rubbing his hands over his face. “Why’d you have to say ‘but’! Now I’m actually thinking about it!”
“So you’ll tell me?” Seiji treaded carefully, as though one wrong word could end the conversation once and for all.
Nicholas should’ve just said ‘it’s complicated’ and ended it there. Maybe relenting and acknowledging the situation would quell Seiji’s interrogation for now.
But no, his dumbass heart decided to dig a hole deeper than that, pulling from somewhere deep inside his chest with the slightest sliver of hope and profound conviction that Seiji would certainly refuse.
“Only if you’d go on a date with me,” Nicholas huffed softly, shaking his head as he got off the bathroom door, ready to dose himself in a nice hot shower and leave this conversation in the past.
“Okay.”
“Wait—what?” Nicholas whipped his head around, surprised to find Seiji standing right behind him, much closer than he’d expected him to be in their tiny dorm room.
“I’ll take you on a date.” He said simply. He left off the part that said, "The price would be so easy;” that Nicholas would so easily bend for a sliver of Seiji’s attention. He’d be right though, which was why Nicholas tried so hard to resist that. To be as absolutely volatile as possible around him.
But his resolution was wavering around the undeniable pull of Seiji’s presence. Nicholas could still feel the light touch and hot hot burning of where the dark haired boy adjusted his stance over a week ago.
Feelings are dumb.
But this kind of dumb made him feel good.
He was weak to that.
“I—what are you saying?”
“Friday,” Seiji decided, in a voice that Nicholas pretended was just for him; the rasp in that single word caressing his ear. The taller boy smirked, leaning around him to put a hand against the door. “Friday I’ll take you out for dinner.”
Nicholas’s mouth parted slightly, speechless, as a blush spread across his face.
Seiji’s eyes flickered down for a moment before looking up again. “And wear something nice.”
He turned the doorknob and walked past Nicholas, clicking the bathroom door shut.
Nicholas stuttered, frozen at the sudden turn of events. Before finally realizing—
“Hey! I was gonna shower first!”

Fence headcanons (part 4):
- Rather than Seiji, it’s Nicholas who has quiet footsteps. His fencing footwork might need some improvement, but outside of the piste he has very light and quiet steps. It startles Seiji sometimes how Nicholas can appear out of nowhere.
- After Seiji’s parents get to know Nicholas, Seiji’s dad has a picture of him as his phone background. Seiji is both appalled and yet endeared when he finds out.
- The iconic bowl haircut is an Asian rite of passage. I firmly believe that Seiji would’ve had one growing up.
- Nicholas keeps a list on his phone of all the advanced vocabulary that Seiji says to him—including both the phrase Seiji said to him and the definition of the word.

Another Fence Drabble :)
Nicholas shifts the weight beneath his feet as he and Seiji draw nearer to the stairs. His eyes are trained on dark brown, and Seiji’s not even looking at him, eyes facing forward. Nicholas’ mesmerized by them, anyways. The shape of them, the color, his lashes. The way his mole sits under his eye so perfectly poised. He’s not paying attention to where he’s walking.
Nicholas takes another step, a little too big, his foot settles onto solid ground.
Okay, good. Now keep walking and stop staring at Seiji’s face, Nicholas tells himself.
He’s always been bad at following directions, even self-imposed ones no matter how hard he tries. Maybe that’s why karma finally came around to catch him, because his foot doesn’t catch the next step.
Empty air.
Nothing.
He’s not expecting the lack of step, he didn’t even realize how close to the stairs they were. His eyes snap away from Seiji’s gorgeous soulful brown ones, flickering over to make a grab at the handrail.
He misses.
His hand eye coordination doesn’t need work, it just needs to stop focusing on Seiji. His hand misses its mark and suddenly he’s falling forward.
Oh god this is the stairs to get to the bottom of the music wing, Nicholas’ mind races. It’s an incredibly tall flight even with the large flat step intersecting the middle. Falling even just to that safe-ish haven is gonna land him a sprained wrist at the very least. Or-or something.
Ironically everything happens in slow motion, when it all technically happened within a split second.
A gasp, his flailing arm, the dumb decision to close his eyes instead of reattempting to place his foot on the correct step as a final redemption in the heat of the moment.
As quick as flick, a hand reaches out. Warm and calloused and safe, engulfing Nicholas’ own and tugs.
Nicholas stops falling, suspended above those wretched stairs covered in small traces of marker and randomly fallen flyers. Nicholas isn’t one of them.
His breath stalls in his throat, a tiny breathy sound stuck right at the place he wants Seiji to kiss him. A kiss on the throat sounds awfully divine, but Nicholas is anything but worthy of such godly touch.
Stop thinking about it. Stop thinking about Seiji kissing you, he admonishes himself.
He focuses on fingers, firmly gripped over his own as that safe comforting hand pulls Nicholas back.
He’d romanticize it and say it was a slow and gentle moment, but in reality Seiji had yanked him back so hard he fell into the taller boy’s arms. Stumbling into him with his face pressed right against his collar. Uh—not what he expected, not that he planned to fall, he didn’t like falling unless it involves another boy with a painfully soft smile that hits you suddenly like a flèche before it’s gone. But still, score.
A moment passes, and then two.
“Nicholas, you’re shaking.” Seiji says, fingers still wrapped around his, squeezing them gently.
“I fell.” He responds dimly, still in shock.
“You didn’t.” A murmur above his head. It’s soft.
“I fell.” He repeats against Seiji’s shirt.
“I caught you.” Seiji reassuraces him, his other arm wraps around Nicholas’ shoulder, pressing him close.
“I fell.”
“Nicholas,” the soft triplet of his name makes him look up, and eyes filled with something intense yet so soft look back at him. “I’m here.”
“Okay.” The word just plunks out of him, inelegant and gauche, but he doesn’t know what else to say.
Thank you. I love you. Don’t stop holding me. Please love me.
His heart is aching at the way Seiji looks at him like he’s something precious, words that he wants to say pour through his veins, begging to be heard. He doesn’t say any of those words.
Seiji nods, and Nicholas can hear a heartbeat racing fast against his ear. Was it his own? Or was it Seiji’s?
He doesn’t know.
Nicholas slowly peels himself off of Seiji, and the two slowly make their way down the stairs.
Neither of them say a word as their hands remain clasped between them.

Fence headcanons? (Any of the schools)
I have a lot of Fence headcanons on my blog! You can check out my pinned post here :)
Here’s a few of my favorite headcanons from those previous posts:
- Seiji has a dad sneeze.
- Seiji is a dog person.
- Nicholas likes to sit on the floor, otherwise he sits in funky positions on chairs. Seiji doesn’t understand why Nicholas would rather do his homework on the floor when there is a perfectly good desk in their dorm room.
- Seiji secretly enjoys Nicholas’ endless prattling. It reminds him of his mom talking the ear off of his dad, but his dad would always fondly listen. Seiji is starting to understand why.
- Nicholas has quiet footsteps. His fencing footwork might need some improvement, but outside of the piste he has very light and quiet steps. It startles Seiji sometimes how Nicholas can appear out of nowhere.
Here’s a few new headcanons that came to me recently:
- Nicholas has a mole on the back of his neck (And maybe somewhere on his back too? I don’t believe Seiji is the only one out there with a mole on his body. A flat mole though, so Nicholas wouldn’t have been aware of it, at least tactically).
- Seiji speaks fluent Japanese (not a groundbreaking headcanon, but I still really like it. I think Nicholas likes Seiji’s voice in Japanese, too 🤭).
- Scott (Langtree) used to live in Australia, and because of that has become the designated bug-kiIIer at Halverton. He’s unfazed when a cricket or spider makes its way into the salle.
- Sungchul (Park) has two older sisters. He’s a bit of a loner though, and doesn’t really like it when they smother him with attention.
- Jesse is prone to paper cuts, and as a byproduct of that, has quite an extensive bandage collection 🩹🩹
- Thomas (Leventis, sunshine twin) likes to bake as a hobby. However, pie is the one thing he’s been unable to master (Pie crust is just so hard to get right! But that’s fine, he’d rather bake muffins, bars, or cookies over pie any day) 🧁🧁🧁
- Aster (Leventis, grumpy twin) is a hardcore Stardew Valley fan. His brother even gifted him a straw hat for his birthday ✨👒✨
- Nate (Spencer) likes bird watching 🦆🦜🦉
Please interact or send more asks, I’d love to talk about my headcanons 😭🤲

You mean to tell me… that Jesse’s favorite food isn’t Exton mess, but Eton mess?? I thought he just really liked Exton’s mess hall food (which is odd, but go off I guess). I didn’t know that Eton mess is basically meringues and whipped cream with strawberries!! 🍓🤍
I could be baking pavlovas rn…

Fence headcanons that I have:
- Seiji would absolutely 100% play Neko Atsume. He also seems to be the type to not rename the cats in the game, but he probably renames the one that reminds him of Nicholas the most. Maybe he renames one of the cats “Zero” as to be more subtle about it.
- Nicholas knows how to pick a lock but doesn’t advertise that information. One day Coach Williams is locked out of her car and Nicholas gets that bad boy opened in less than five minutes. Neither of them speak of it. She generously gives him less sprints the next time he has to run them.
- Jesse has some inherent older brother energy that he attributes to being Exton’s fencing captain. I also like to think that he’s close to Aster (the grumpy Levantis twin) based off that one panel of Jesse putting a hand on his shoulder.
- Thomas (the sunshine Levantis twin) is not a morning person despite his smiley demeanor. Meanwhile his brother Aster wakes up perfectly refreshed every morning.
- Seiji is a dog person and I will die on this hill. (Or at the very least owns a dog because his parents wanted one).
- Dante either has the most gorgeous or the most horrendous singing voice. There is no in-between. He also seems to be the type to do something astonishing for his character and then say “No one will believe you,” and walk away. I’m thinking he could idk juggle??
- Nicholas is actually good at academics when he applies himself. He just never got the chance to properly do so back at Bridgeport High. He scored higher than Seiji once on a Latin quiz because he decided to study instead of nap when his phone died during study hall.

My first Eugesse? 😳
The beach was not a place that Eugene expected to find Jesse at.
Well, maybe at a white sandy beach with pristine blue water and a strawberry daiquiri in hand—not this messy beachfront with patches of tall wild grass, broken pieces of driftwood scattered across the sand, and waves that lapped up the coast in a dark blue murky haze, spitting up seaweed in clumps along the wet shore. It had character, and was pretty in its own right, but it didn’t really fit the image Eugene had of Jesse inside his own head.
Speaking of said crush, there he was. Standing along a little ways off by the water while the wind swept through his hair.
Eugene wanted to go up to Jesse and say hi, but then he saw the way the blond boy looked at Seiji who had approached the edge of the sea just then, toes in the sand, but just far enough away that the water wouldn’t lap at his feet.
He saw Jesse look at Seiji with an emotion that looked vaguely like longing mixed with something else, and felt a nasty twist in his gut. The point of an épée right under his rib, pushing and pressing through the ache of his soul.
Eugene wasn’t dumb. He could glean that there used to be something there. Platonic. Romantic. It didn’t matter. He did know that the two had spent years together—childhood friends with a burning rivalry. And maybe there was something more there, something worth a label. But Eugene wouldn’t know. Eugene didn’t know. It wasn’t his story to tell, or to know for that matter. He could respect that.
But still, he couldn’t help the way that it made him feel. It was as though one of his siblings took a marker and scribbled it over his brain, over his skin, ending in a concentrated tangle of lines over his heart.
His chest ached.
He stared at Jesse for a moment longer; tall and broad-shouldered, a defined jawline, his for-once-bare-forearms—the sleeves of his linen shirt rolled neatly up to reveal some impressive muscle—his hands tucked casually into the pockets of his cargo shorts.
He wondered what it would be like to be arm wrestle Jesse. To hold his hand before winning a match of brawns—or perhaps he’d lose… having lost the moment Jesse held Eugene’s hand in his.
Not that Jesse would ever do such a thing. He didn’t seem like the physical type, but then the memory of Jesse absentmindedly offering his hand to one of the Levantis twins after a fencing bout for a hand massage flashed through his mind. But maybe he permitted such a casual touch for the masseuse on Exton’s team, or maybe he made the exception just for soothing hand cramps.
Eugene wouldn’t know. Eugene didn’t know a lot of things. But he didn’t let that bother him. Usually.
But still, he couldn’t help but let his mind wander and think of dangerous things.
What would it be like for Jesse to hold him? In his arms. Against his chest. Just simply. Being.
Eugene tore his eyes away, staring at the crashing waves of the ocean as a tinge of melancholy seeped into the corners of his mouth. He bit his lip to stave off his wavering emotions.
He didn’t notice the pair of blue eyes looking his way.
"Eugene!"
He snapped his head toward the call of his name.
"Come help me set up!" Nicholas shouted, dragging some beach equipment behind him in the sand.
"I gotchu bro!" Eugene shouted back, turning away from golden sunshine and seaside blue.

Fence headcanons (part 3):
- Nicholas knows a lot of niche cleaning tricks from his janitorial job (and getting blood on his clothes from fights). He’s able to get a smoothie (or perhaps protein shake?) stain out of the common room carpet like a breeze. Eugene thanks him with a protein shake the next morning. And then proceeds to drop it after he trips on his shoelace.
- The custodians adore Nicholas because he actively tries to have conversations with them. He knows what it’s like to be actively ignored while cleaning, and how meaningful a simple “hello” can be. He tries to be as tidy as he can in the common areas of school and picks up trash he comes across. In return, the custodians teach him shortcuts to get around the school quicker and where the cheapest vending machines are.
- Nicholas likes watching the sunset. Sometimes he’ll sit and take in the view after after-school practice instead of going to shower in his dorm right away. He likes sunrises more, but often finds himself a tad too hungry to really find the time to bask in the orange glow of morning.
- Seiji is knowledgeable about constellations. He tries to show Nicholas the Big Dipper one night when they’re walking to/from the clubhouse, but Nicholas legitimately can’t tell where he’s pointing. Nicholas does however enjoy the mini lecture about stars. Nicholas finds that while he doesn’t like being the topic of a lecture (i.e. splashing water in the bathroom or leaving his clothes around the floor), he does enjoy listening to Seiji’s voice.
- Seiji secretly enjoys Nicholas’ endless prattling. It reminds him of his mom talking the ear off of his dad, but his dad would always fondly listen. Seiji is starting to understand why.

Fence headcanons (part 2):
- Seiji can’t solve a rubik’s cube.
- Scott Langtree can spin a basketball on his fingertip.
- Nicholas likes to sit on the floor, otherwise he sits in funky positions on chairs. Seiji doesn’t understand why Nicholas would rather do his homework on the floor when there is a perfectly good desk in their dorm room.
- Nicholas is allergic to cats. (He will still pet them if given the chance however).
- In conjunction with having a fear of the dark, Nicholas does not like thunder. However he does like rain, but too much or too loud makes him uneasy.
- Bobby is an absolute god at watermelon seed contests.
- Eugene’s favorite pizza topping used to be pineapple before he developed an allergy to it. Poor Eugene.
- Seiji has a dad sneeze.

I want to write a Fence!Hockey au. Would the au just be called Hockey then? lmao 😆⛸️❄️✨
Alternatively a solo skater au, or maybe just an au involving skating at an ice rink or frozen lake during winter break ❄️✨
I can picture Nicholas knowing the ins and outs of operating a zamboni… He’d probably own a dull orange skate patrol jacket too ⛸️🧡
Tbh this au is for Thomas but I could easily envision Seiji and Nicholas in the background 👀💞✨
Omg and a cute hot chocolate scene!! 🍫🍫✨

Fence headcanons (part 5):
- Nicholas has two blush settings. One is a cute dusting of pink across the cheeks, the other is an intense flushed shade of red not unlike that of a ripe strawberry (…now I need to write a 4+1 or 5+1 of Nicholas blushing).
- Nicholas can perfectly wrap any package because he worked a part time job as a gift wrapper at the mall one Christmas season. Even Seiji is impressed when Nicholas wraps his present for Coach Williams’ birthday.
- Nicholas knows how to sew and do minor alterations. You remember that duvet on Nicholas’ bed in volume one? Yeah, that’s all him. Hand-sewn patches and everything (I can definitely see a fic being born from this… Seiji noticing Nicholas fixing his ripped backpack strap during lunch or re-sewing a button that came off Eugene’s uniform before fencing practice).

✿ This looks like fun! ✿
[Fandom game post here]
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.
Seiji Katayama x Nicholas Cox (Fence)
Draco Malfoy x Harry Potter (HP)
If you want to read my Fence related answers, jump to letters: M N O R S T V or Z
B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
Nastu Dragoneel x Gray Fullblaster (Fairytail) - I’m mainly a gruvia shipper BUT I came across this brilliantly written gratsu fic a few years back and it rewrote my brain chemistry entirely.
C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will.
I don’t like saying mean things.
D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t.
Shinsou Hitoshi x Kaminari Denki (MHA) - Monoshin has my heart <3
E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what?
I wrote about an established relationship where character A wanted to give character B a gift. A asks B’s bff what to give him. Bff tells A to give B a rock. A proceeds to spend the day meticulously picking out a rock to give to B. A later presents this perfectly picked out rock to B, and B loves this little gift. This story oddly resonated with a lot of people in my old fandom lol. Moral of the story? People love rocks. Give your friends rocks. They will love you.
F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom?
About a decade? I started watching Pokémon for as long as I can remember (still love it!), but I fell out of the fandom when my parents stopped paying for cable.
G - Have you ever had an OTP? If so, do you remember your first one? Who was in it?
Zutara. Zuko and Katara were everything to me. Fire and water? Their antagonistic relationship? There was so much tension there. It just made sense to me.
H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)?
The first half of my life was dedicated to TV shows (when I had cable). The rest of my life is dedicated to printed material (books, manga, comics, etc).
I - Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?
No. I only joined this platform about two months ago. I haven’t come across any negativity on this side of tumblr.
J - Name a fandom you didn’t think about until you saw it all over Tumblr. (You don’t have to care about it or follow it; it just has to be something that Tumblr made you aware of.)
Little Goody Two Shoes (indie game)
Temeraire (book? I think?)
K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?
Juvia Lockster or Flare Corona (both Fairytail)
L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves. (Characters you’re neutral about are fair game, as are characters you merely dislike. Characters that you absolutely loathe with the fire of ten thousand suns are exempt, as there is no point in giving yourself an aneurysm over a character that you hate.)
Can’t think of a character I actively loathe or dislike at the top of my head.
M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend.
Sungchul Park (Fence) - He seems cocky and I like that.
Luna Lovegood (HP) - She’s just got the VibesTM you know?
N - Name three things you wish you saw more of in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice).
Nicholas coming over to visit the Katayamas for winter (or summer!) break.
I want to get severe secondhand embarrassment from something that Nicholas does in front of Seiji. I want to fluster that boy so bad. I want him to feel so embarrassed he could melt into a puddle of liquified Cox. And after all of the chaos I want Seiji to find that Nicholas actually looks rather cute when he’s blushing and flustered :) I’m evil.
‼️ MORE ‼️ BLUSHING ‼️ NICHOLAS‼️
I also want to explore more of Nicholas’ (fandom assumed) fear of the dark.
Would love to see more of Nicholas being vulnerable around Seiji.
I want to see more of the Leventis/Levantis twins (I’m writing something myself, but still. Would love to see others interpretation of the boys)!
Nsfw-wise… I’d like to see more bottom or submissive Nicholas. I think fandom has mostly pegged him for a dominant top lol.
O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of?
Kiss Me - Sixpence None the Richer is how I envision Robert Coste and Nicholas’ mother’s relationship to be like in one of my unfinished pieces. An au where Nicholas doesn’t know who his father is and has a loving relationship with his mom.
P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas).
Needing to make dinner but the jar of sauce won’t open so character A visits their neighbor character B and asks for help in opening the jar.
Character A is staring at character B while walking down the sidewalk and accidentally walks into a light pole. A scurries away in embarrassment while B finds that kinda cute.
Accidentally blurting out a romantic confession whilst in the middle of an argument.
Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why.
I wouldn’t necessarily say that I’ve abandoned any fandoms, just outgrew them (show finished), left due to circumstances (no more cable or show on hiatus), or lack of inspiration to continue writing. It feels wrong to say “abandoned” because I still love these fandoms and would still go back to consume their content. I’m just not actively involved anymore.
Kuroko no Basuke. Miraculous Ladybug. Fairytail.
R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?
The Leventis/Levantis twins (in my own personal interpretation of them). I have a sibling so I’ve mostly based their interactions on my own. The kind of relationship where you annoy each other but love each other fiercely.
S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged)
I think that Seiji would own a dog.
Also!! Headcanon that Seiji runs warm and Nicholas has wonky blood circulation which leads to wearing tank tops and shorts in the winter but hoodies and sweatpants in the summer.
T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?
Seiji is a dog person.
U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.
Reese from Scarlet Hollow - I yearn for starving artists. And he likes horror movies? Score! He’s also a little shy but also very cute. 10/10 would romance again.
Sebastian from Stardew Valley - Quiet loner that enjoys tabletop games similar to D&D? And he rides a motorcycle? Brb swooning at his feet.
I can’t pick a favorite from Fence ;v; I love Nicholas but I also love Scott and Thomas and Sungchul and Nate aaaaaaaaa
V - Which character do you relate to most?
In Fence? Nate Spencer. I was originally going to say Nicholas but after further evaluation I realize that I am in fact Nate. The kind of person that brightens up the room but also tends to gravitate to one person in particular despite getting constantly ignored (Aiden sksks).
W - A trope which you are virtually certain to hate in any fandom.
No happy ending. Hurt no comfort. Break-up fics.
X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.
Enemies to lovers. Rivals to lovers. Sickfics. Inexperience (first kiss, first times). Not actually unrequited love. Secondhand embarrassment. Sex pollen/lust potion. Truth serum. Party games (i.e. truth or dare).
Y - What are your secondhand fandoms (i.e., fandoms you aren’t in personally but are tangentially familiar with because your friends/people on your dash are in them)?
Call of Duty.
Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! (Prompts optional but encouraged.)
I’m surprised by the lack of rarepairs in Fence. There’s so much potential with the amount of characters that have been introduced so far, but I guess I can see why. Nichoji are just so throughly entwined with each other it’s almost impossible to envision them with anybody else. Other than that, I would gander that there’s more interest in the main ships than exploring newer characters and even newer relationships. (I aim to change that though, a new rarepair is on the horizon!! Hopefully by Valentine’s day 👀💘)
I’m also rather surprised by how active this fandom is despite the small size of it. It’s nice and cozy here though and I like that.
This fandom is actually making me want to try drawing again. Just speaking out to the void here lol. I was pretty decent at drawing chibis when I was younger. Blushing Nicholas here I come… ✍️♥️✨

Do Seiji and Nicholas have a set emoji ship combo? Is it just 💙❤️ ? I don’t imagine putting 🤺🤺 works all too well when almost everyone fences in this fandom lol 😆💕
Do you think maybe 🍨🍔 would be cute? Or would that be a bit too obscure to understand?
Imagine using the left and right hand emojis to signify this ship ✋🤚😅

I am so entirely obsessed with this little au that I’ve created and I’m kicking my feet into the air.
