Family. For Levi, family is never actively sought out, never actively pursued, and yet, all the same, it somehow finds him. Truthfully, despite his sour demeanor, perhaps it's because of his gentle heart. See, Levi, to the core of him, can be seen as a provider -- or, better yet, a stalwart guardian. He doesn't offer much warmth, no, and is obviously intimidatingly aloof, but as humanity's strongest, he can offer protection and offer guidance and stability when things are hard. In fact, even forgetting his physical prowess, Levi's voice still somehow functions like an anchor. He might not hold all the answers, but he still exudes confidence, and having lived all his life in turmoil and hell, his beacon of hope is honestly tempting. So, he doesn't actively seek family, but he's no less a gravity, and that gravity is what led him to find Farlan and Isabel, and that gravity is why his soldiers always gave him their hearts.
And despite his cool demeanor, Levi is very, very emotional. He very much values human lives. He's always aware of his company, will grow decidedly attached with time as well, and for all the strength he's housing in his bones, he has to keep them safe. That's been his weight.
It's just ironic, really, that he always loses the people he cares for.
But when you're the strongest of them all, you're often the last one standing.
