Cassandra refused to feed into her mind games. She isn’t here. She isn’t real anymore. She breathes, expelling all the images, all those traumatizing memories Ma Ma caused, not only for Cassandra but for everybody within Peach Trees (living and deceased).
She had no reason to lie to Ma Ma. She had no reason to lie at all, really. Of course Cassandra could hear her, could see her, but that didn’t stop her from trying her damndest to expel her from her mind. She wanted to cast her image, her existence out of her, and Grudd was she trying. Her eyes shut tight, focusing.
“ DROKK off, Ma ma.. “
“ Or you’ll what ? “
Brow was lowered over dim green eyes with the turn of her chin to
stare directly at the young woman. A mocking smile edged to lift at
her lips but she would not let it show. Her voice had whipped out in
a power snap of a lash. She had gotten the intended reaction. Had
struck the nerve that Ma had been picking and prodding at since
the moment she got here.
“ Throw me from a window? “
Her head quirks to the side with the purse of her lips. Despite the
small satisfaction in the victory of this little game she allowed
the lingering emotions that tugged at her to bleed through her
entire existence. The anger and scorn that kept her lodged in place.
“ You’re very welcome to try. ”
