Tomorrow I am interviewing three supporters of HR3339 which would create a National Infrastructure Bank to fund infrastructure projects across the country. The US invests far less in infrastructure than our economic competitors like China, Japan and Europe. We are losing our international competitiveness because of crumbling infrastructure and lack of investment in innovation like nationwide broadband, affordable housing and high speed rail. Rebuilding our infrastructure will rebuild our economy and provide good, stable jobs. The US has had four national banks in its history, most recently FDR's Reconstruction Finance Corporation which the built the infrastructure to make the US a manufacturing powerhouse. This bank will be modeled after these previous successful US public banking projects. NIB supporters are seeking Congressional co-sponsors. Please encourage your Congressional representatives to sign on to HR3339. None of Arizona's reps are co-sponsors ... yet. The National Infrastructure Bank will be the subject of Season 2 Episode 13 of A View from the Left Side which will be published later this week.
