Marble Hornets is a web series made in 2009 based on the Slenderman mythos. the YouTube channel with all entries is here , and here's a video with every single entry in it to make watching/listening easier. warning though for like. a lot of death, a lot of shit going horribly wrong. its—it's kind of a horror thing haha. it's soo cool, my personal favorite entry is #84, but the whole thing is awesome!!

Shadow was fucked. Capital F-U-C-K-E-D penned in the most beautiful, flowering cursive and stamped with the royal seal. If there was an award for biggest idiot in the four kingdoms, Shadow would be winning it for the rest of his most likely very short life.

Did stealing the Prince/King's crown off of his head while he was sleeping warrant the death penalty? Maybe? Shadow didn't know Lorule law code well enough to know? Had that ever happened before? Shadow was hoping to do something famous and have his name go down in history, but he really really hoped that this wasn't how he did it.

The sound of keys turning in a lock startled Shadow out his self deprecating thoughts and made him turn towards the cell door, where a guard was unlocking his door with shaking hands.

"You, erm, requested to see the prisoner, Your Majesty?"

Shadow froze as the Prince/King of Lorule, Vio, the very one whose crown he had stolen just half an hour ago strolled into his cell.

Add the signatures of the rulers of the four kingdoms to that document spelling out just how fucked Shadow was. He didn't know what the Prince King wanted to do with him, but it could not be anything good.

"Release him,"

"What!?" Shadow and the guard said at the exact same time. Luckily for Shadow, Vio didn't seem to hear what he said, and instead turned to the guard.

"You heard what I said," Vio said with a raised eyebrow and a cool expression.

"Bu-But Your Majesty!" The guard stammered out. "He stole your crown! The crown of the kingdom! And you want me to-"

"Let. Him. Go." Vio said, each syllable enunciated with power and dripping with authority. It was his King Voice, the voice that Shadow had heard during speeches but never up close and oh. oh no.

Shadow felt his cheeks burn with heat as he played back those three simple words that suddenly had him feeling like he'd been pushed in the caldera of Death Mountain. His heart was pounding in his chest and it wasn't from the cell around him or the iron on his wrists. What the fuck had Vio just done to him?!

Vio turned away from the nervously nodding guard just in time to see Shadow's face looking like it had just been set on fire, and for some reason that was entirely unclear to Shadow, made Vio smirk a little bit as he gestured to Shadow.

"His shackles, please"

The guard nervously unlocked Shadow's shackles and rushed out of the cell, leaving Vio and Shadow alone.

"That was quite an impressive move," Vio said. "Creating a diversion to draw away that guard on a night that you knew I would be overworked. Very clever,"

The royal housecat must have stolen Shadow's tongue because he physically could not speak. He must have looked like an idiot just standing there, staring at Vio.

"Well, no matter, you're free to go." Vio said briskly. "My only regret is that you weren't in my bedroom under different circumstances,"

With that, Vio waltzed out of the cell, leaving Shadow red faced and spluttering.

What the fuck had just happened?
