Genuinely the only two ships I’ve seen for him are with ren and sakyo and I honestly don’t think I could see him tolerably with like anyone else, so I will say that I don’t like hateeee him with ren. I enjoy their dynamic platonically more than anything and I cannot see takanosuke with a woman, but like, I guess I could tolerate it. At a distance. Of at least 20 ft minimum. And with a hazmat suit.

This comes to any depiction of him and Sakyo together at all, but it’s fun trying to find the balance between Takanosuke being very obviously 100% head over heels hopelessly in love with Sakyo but also not being a complete doormat for him either. A lot of their dynamic together before they’re like super close is takanosuke essentially treating Sakyo like a cat who’s on edge and trying to get as close as possible to try and pet it while not making any sudden movements and scaring it basically, and it’s a fun dynamic to write. I think it Around a Campfire you can kinda see that when Takanosuke’s first asking questions and all that. He so badly wants to just go full in and be besties immediately but he’s proceeding with caution and only going further when Sakyo reciprocates in some way and it’s a fun dynamic to write. I worry about going too far one way or the other though. There’s extents and conditions to both sides of their interactions and so it’s really easy to mess it up I think.
