i’m fucking sick and tired of the internet not understanding what minimalism is. if i see one more person reblog a picture of a white or beige apartment and tag it “i hate minimalism” i’m gonna lose my mind.

#my first full time salaried job was at an art museum that featured a significant collection of minimalists works so i recognize i'm a biased #but come on #last week in the freshman art history survey course that i ta for #right before she introduced minimalism the prof asked the 60 person class if anyone loved minimalism #and the other ta and i were the only ones who raised our hands #then the prof said #see? only the nerds #. . . she was right tho #also another point: #there's this brutalism vs minimalism shit going around tumblr now and it's the stupidest thing i've ever seen #as if brutalism and minimalism weren't closely aligned aesthetic revolutions bridging the gap between modernism and postmodernism #as if they weren't both celebrating the purity of form! you dipshits!
