1. Bloober’s only notable game is Layers of Fear, which was a detailed environment showcase with literally no gameplay and had a shitty “Oooh spooky this alcoholic man hated his family and killed them” plot which is the plot of every shitty horror movie in existence

2. It gives me Resident Evil remake vibes which tells me the focus will be showing off how realistically environments can be rendered in 3D compared to 21 years ago with no application of the atmospheric or stylistic methods Team Silent used to make the game actually scary despite graphical limitations

3. A remake implies the original had things that could’ve been improved or done more effectively, and a development team whose only strength is pretty victorian mansion renders does not give me hope that this will pass the very high bar of the original

#I know all remakes have that concern but if you're going to go back to something already done well why even try to do it again #if you don't have the skillset to match that level or go beyond it #see the shitty voice acting of the HD remasters
