plus i always find it pretty disappointing in my beloved media marketed towards women and girls when a leading man has like. no relationships outside the main character. like cmon, not even a complex but intense homoerotic house-wilson style frenemyship with some buddy of his? thats like the bare minimum

#it can work sometimes for certain characters #but sometimes i'll see a super friendly or whatever type love interest man but somehow he still doesnt care about anyone but the mc #its so boring. where are his friends #thats one thing that really made ikemen sengoku stand out from a lot of other mobile otoge i had played at the time i think #these dudes had like. relatioships. with eachother even #some of them really strong and equally and engaging and interesting as his relationship with the MC #(in some cases more interesting RIP still disappointed about how shingen's route was written) #(the father son content with him and yuki was GREAT but his relationship with the main character fell flat for me ;-;) #(a shame too. i like their chemistry in sidestories and other routes) #i know its supposed to be like oooooh isnt this love so INTENSE he only cares about HER #which is like okay whatever #but like..... its so much more interesting when the dude has like a life LOL #so much you can do like siblings cousins parents friends enemies acquantainces #a big fun part of writing love stories is writing interpersonal relationships: both the main love plus any others #so its always a bummer when everything but the main couple is neglected #so much potential wasted 😔
