Do think the fandom would hate The Mimic as much as they do if it wasn't introduced in those godawful books?
The books, the books, the books... That's a really separating opinion. Books got fans and the books got their well-known haters too. I get it, what even is Faz-Goo and... We don't talk about In The Flesh.
We know the books can be a bit of a touchy subject in the fnaf council, and having the new main antagonist be from the books is understandable. Yikes. But again, throwing Mimic in there as this sudden guy (emphasis on guy as in random-damn dude) is just... What? "Who is that?"
The feared books give us information on what in the world Mimic is and it's good. But the fandom is skeptical because it's from the books. (books = weird) But the dilemma is, again, without the books, we would just have a guy thrown in with no introduction. And we'd just see Mimic as this little DLC critter that isn't super relevant to the lore until more is built up onto him, you know? Just an another endoskeleton to the endo pile. Poor guy. So basically, I think it's better he's from the books. We know what he is, we know how it came to be, and we know what to expect! Not just a forgettable character; He's memorable. Like him or not, it is cool as heck!!!
