This is the spider man AU anon! Wrote a lil something

Being bitten by a radioactive spider and living a double life was certainly NOT on Dominik’s bucket list.

At first he had found the entire thing absurd. Spider-Man was always considered to be fictional. From comic books, videos games, cartoons, movies, and many other content, people loved the franchise and content that came out of it. To Dom, he didn’t either liked or hated it. It was one of his favorite things when he was a kid, but that was way back then. He didn’t expect to rekindle with his own childhood and enjoying any Spider-Man content ever again, but what he certainly did not expect was to basically become THE Spider-Man.

It’s already been six months since he got bit. Now it’s March 2024. While he had to continue to live on to the name of Dirty Dom, especially as he paved his way through Wrestlemania 40, he also had to go out during the daylight or nighttime when he didn’t had to work and make sure that everything was okay. Lately people caught sightings of this “Modern and Real Spider-Man” on camera, all of the pictures immediately going viral as well as with the inclusion of people making many theories and speculations. While some people believe and hope that the whole radioactive spider thing is real, others attempt to be realists and try to explain that it was all fake; that whoever was being that “real” Spider-Man was probably only pretending to be him just for views and clicks.

If only they knew.

Out of everyone, only Finn knew. He didn’t knew how to break the news to Priest, JD, or even to Rhea. He gulped at the thought of their reactions. The stuff he was involved in as Spider-Man wasn’t safe to be the least. The last thing that he wanted was for anyone that he cared about to be involved in his mess. He would want to keep them as far away as possible.

Every Monday at midnight, after everyone returned to the hotel from Raw, and after making sure Rhea was asleep, he would go out and patrol whatever city they were currently staying at. Whether he wrestled or not beforehand, he didn’t felt the exhaustion at the moment. But when he came back from patrolling at 6 AM, that’s where his exhaustion would hit as he would immediately hide his suit, take a quick and quiet shower, and then doze off on the bed until Rhea would wake up.

Bonus points if there's angst between Dom and Rhea.

HOLY SHIT. Rey finding out the worst way possible and realizing that not only does his own son despises him, but he’s also none other than Spider-Man + he almost killed him— (Kind of reminds me of the Prowler/Uncle Aaron and Miles from Into the Spiderverse or w/ Phin and Miles in the video game.)

Would also be some sort of way for Rhea, Damian, and JD to find out when he suddenly comes back heavily injured with Finn helping him. 👀

Ooooooh I’m liking this!

As for the villain part, I feel like some would mysteriously begin to appear while others would just exist before he came to the picture as Spider-Man. I also would like to think that there are some people within the WWE who are kinda like anti-heroes/vigilantes that he doesn’t know their true identities of until later on… 👀

Imagine if Rey is one of said villains...A villain that pretends to be the good guy.

I could picture some angst happening.

Rey and Dominik fighting, a prettry gruesome fight, then Rey yanks Dominik's mask off. What would be his reaction to realizing he was about to kill his own son...

My question is this though: how would Dom even find out that he possesses spider powers + how would Rhea even find out?

For one I think that maybe while he’s training with TJD he gets bitten by this “random” spider which he brushes off seeing that it was way too small and possibly harmless, then the next thing he knows, he’s suddenly climbing walls and shooting webs from his wrists the next day and with absolutely no idea or clue as to how he can manage this until he tells Finn about it.

We also have to keep in mind that he is living a double life; being a professional and famous wrestler while also being a figure that people thought was fictional but soon became a reality: Spider-Man. Maybe it doesn’t take a while for Rhea to connect the dots and finds out eventually or Dom decides to tell her all about it at some point?

He also becomes even more athletic and stronger than he already is due to his new given powers hence why when people start to notice that he’s been winning a lot in his matches lately, they start to get suspicious because Dom NEVER wins a match without cheating somehow or having someone at ringside to help him win… 👀

Hehe these are good points. See I'm someone that loves drama, action/fantasy movies. I feel like Dominik would avoid telling Rhea as much as possible until some shit happens and he has no other choice but to tell her.

Also, another thing to consider. Is Dominik the only one with powers or are other "villains" with powers mysteriously showing up as well? Would be interesting.

As for how he got his powers, could definitely be by a "random" magical spider like you said. But what would be the origins of the spider?👀

As for people's suspicion, i feel like they wouldn't suspect Dominik is spider man until an obvious, accident happens. Like, i dont know, his mullet showing up a little under the mask, or tattoos, his voice etc.
