The harvest was in, and Asgard celebrated.  The usual smells of the city were overlaid by the scent of burnt sugar, of apples of every type, of pies and tarts, of the savory scent of soups and stews.  A person could scarcely go three steps without someone offering some harvest treat for the enjoyment of the crowds on the streets.

Sera, however, had a different goal in mind - one that she was singularly hyperfixated on in that way only she could be.  The end of the harvest brought with it the fruits of Asgard’s thread trade - yarn and threads gathered as raw product earlier in the year finally having been spun and dyed, now offered to anyone with the coin.  Most of the older merchants knew Sera on sight, and kept aside her favorite choices, but every year there’d be at least one new seller, and new products to peruse.

She glanced back at Laerke, who had an apple in her mouth as she juggled the baskets full of harvest fruits and sweets with the ones carrying the yarn and thread Sera had already bought.  Sera’s own arms had baskets hanging from them, but they were hardly halfway through the city.

“Slowpoke!” she chided, a brilliant smile taking any sting from the word.  “And stop eating all the apples!  I want some too!”

Laerke is taller than Duvessa, Chloe, and Edith, the same height as Dylan, only two inches shorter than Ros and Parker, and Sera can use the top of her head as a chin rest.  

Shadow is whatever height Laerke would find most attractive at the time.
