Ooooh, great danes, we love a historically working breed that is lucky to make it to double digit ages. (/s) Stupidest color politics of any dog breed ever, honestly. Lies about being a Dane, actually a German imposter. Literally would rather die than be kenneled -- seriously, this dog is not boarding safe. IDK how they can manage to eat like 9 cups of food a day and still lose every bit of weight on their body when stressed out by boarding BUT THEY DO. Think that they're lap dogs????????? which is absurd. Bloat if you look at them wrong. The only dog breed that has made me legitimately fear for my life, 0/10, very scary when aggressive. Way too rowdy as puppies for how ridiculously large they are, please chill. Even if you do not consent to be used as a drool rag they will use you as a drool rag. Think it's funny to gallop at people full speed like a speeding truck as a form of play. Having to pick up poops the size of a domestic housecat if you own this breed? Shameful and embarrassing, especially if anyone happens to see you struggling through it. Just did sibes for the ask before this one so look there for their shame.

Garlic is an herb that I always have on hand, usually in several different forms. From powder, salt, and minced for cooking to fresh for both cooking and wellness — this herb has a plethora of uses besides being tasty!
Garlic: Revered or Feared?
Garlic is one of the oldest cultivated herbs dating back to more than 5,000 years ago, but its place in society has wavered. Some cultures saw garlic as an herb fit for the gods, while others found it repulsive and fit for only animal feed. Its use in society stretched the gamut of these beliefs.
In fact, the ancient Egyptians worshipped garlic as a god and also used it as currency! Because of this, Egyptians swore on cloves of garlic much in the way some swear on the Bible. Interestingly, only the lower-class actually ate garlic because the rich believed it was too “coarse and common” for their delicate palate. In Greece, India, and England, garlic was considered too pungent for upper-class people to eat.
Despite all the controversy, many cultures believed garlic was protective. In ancient Korea it was thought that tigers hated the smell of garlic, so people would eat pickled garlic before traversing the mountains. In ancient Greece, midwives hung cloves of garlic on the window to ward off evil spirits during childbirth. They also used garlic internally as a medicinal herb despite (or because of) its strong odor and taste.
But because of this strong taste, herbalists have been torn throughout history as to whether garlic was indeed helpful or an herb best avoided. There is one legend that goes, “When Satan stepped out from the Garden of Eden after the fall of man, Garlick sprang up from the spot where he placed his left foot and onion from that where his right foot touched.”
Garlic has been linked to romance and thought of as an aphrodisiac. It has also been used as an antiseptic during wartime and, famously, in the four thieves remedy that protected plunderers during the plague. Today we enjoy garlic for its amazing flavor and many medicinal qualities as studies have been piling up to support garlic’s use as an herbal remedy for many ailments.
Science-Backed Reasons to Eat Garlic
In modern times, garlic still enjoys being loved by many (and hated by some). I’m married to an Italian so you can guess the feeling in our house!
But there are reasons to eat garlic that have nothing to do with flavor and everything to do with health…
Healthy Heart and Metabolic Function
Some evidence suggests that garlic may help promote heart health and fight heart disease. Garlic may slow down atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) and lower blood pressure slightly, between 7% and 8%. (Most of the studies on high blood pressure have used a specific formulation called Kwai.)
One study that lasted 4 years found that people who took 900 mg daily of standardized powder slowed the development of atherosclerosis. It also seems to be an anticoagulant, meaning it acts as a blood-thinner, which may help the fight against heart attacks and strokes.
Additionally, a 2010 placebo-controlled trial included 50 patients with hypertension. The trial concluded that aged garlic was as good as hypertension medications in lowering systolic blood pressure.
Finally, research shows that garlic can also help reduce blood sugar levels as well as cholesterol levels and triglycerides.
Healthy Hair
According to a 2009 study, garlic can help reduce hair loss when used topically. It also has negligible side effects, making it a safe choice. Infuse garlic cloves in olive oil to make a garlic oil and rub into the scalp as needed.
Protects Against Group B Strep
A local midwife suggests consuming a raw garlic clove or capsule of garlic daily, along with 2,000 mg of vitamin C to help balance gut bacteria and avoid GBS. Anecdotally, this remedy worked for me in my past two pregnancies after testing positive during one pregnancy. But one in vitro study that looked at allicin extract’s effect on GBS in a petri dish found that garlic was able to kill the bacteria in three hours. More research is needed to know if this treatment works, but many midwives and moms swear by it.
Colds and Flu
According to a 2001 study, ingesting garlic can prevent the common cold or flu. But the evidence on garlic’s ability to shorten the duration of colds and flu seems to come from elderly friends and grandparents who swear by its effectiveness. But garlic is safe (and delicious!), so it’s worth a try. We consume fresh cloves during illness as needed.
Anti-Fungal
Garlic may help treat fungal infections like athlete’s foot, one study published in Annals of Applied Biology discovered. But garlic can also be irritating to the skin, so be cautious and listen to your body when using undilute garlic juice or fresh garlic.
Repel Mosquitos
There’s no evidence that eating garlic or rubbing it on the skin repels mosquitos. But that doesn’t stop people from doing it anyway! Many swear that eating a lot of garlic in a camping meal helps repel biting mosquitoes. Garlic is a healthy food, so there’s no harm in trying it (just keep some natural bug spray close by too).
Anti-Cancer
Garlic is anti-inflammatory and fights oxidative stress, making it a potential cancer fighter. A review article published in Cancer Prevention Research explains that garlic and other vegetables in the allium family affect many biological processes that modify cancer risk. Garlic can slow cancer cell growth and speed up cancer cell death. The studies looked at garlic’s effect on cancers including:
stomach
prostate
colorectal
esophageal
breast
larynx
ovary
However, the review points out that it is unknown how much garlic consumption causes a reduction in cancer risk. More research is needed to find this as well as to explore the connection between overall diet and lifestyle, garlic consumption, and cancer risk. The main takeaway is that there are anti-cancer properties in garlic, giving us one more reason to include it in a healthy diet!
Ear Infections
Ear infections can be bacterial or viral. Antibiotics obviously won’t help the viral cases, but garlic will. Garlic oil is a great remedy for ear infections. It is naturally antimicrobial, antiviral, and antibacterial. I make this recipe and keep it on hand when my kids need it.
How to Take Garlic
According to the University of Maryland Medical center, the following doses are considered generally safe doses but check with a doctor or healthcare professional before using any herb as a remedy:
Whole garlic clove: 2 – 4 grams per day of fresh, minced cloves (each clove is approximately 1 gram) (I try to consume 3-4 cloves daily)
Aged garlic extract: 600 – 1,200 mg, daily in divided doses
Freeze-dried capsules: 200 mg, 2 tablets 3 times daily, standardized to 1.3% alliin or 0.6% allicin. Products may also be found standardized to contain 10 – 12 mg/Gm allicin and 4,000 mcg of total allicin potential (TAP).
Fluid extract (1:1 w/v): 4 mL, daily
Tincture (1:5 w/v): 20 mL, daily
Oil: 0.03 – 0.12 mL, 3 times daily
Can Garlic Be Harmful?
Garlic is listed as Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. But always check with your doctor or herbalist as some herbs can interact with other herbs, supplements, or medications.
Side effects from garlic include:
upset stomach
bloating
bad breath
body odor
stinging sensation or lesions from handling garlic
Other, rarer side effects from garlic supplements include:
headache
fatigue
loss of appetite
muscle aches
dizziness/vertigo
allergies including skin rash and asthma
Garlic is considered safe for most people (including pregnant and breastfeeding women) in amounts found in food. It’s unclear if supplement doses of garlic are safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Garlic may not be safe if you have the following medical issues:
Bleeding disorder or upcoming surgery – Garlic (especially fresh garlic) may increase the risk of bleeding.
Diabetes – Garlic can lower blood sugar so it may lower blood sugar too much in some people.
Stomach or digestion problems – Garlic may irritate the gastrointestinal tract.
Low blood pressure – Because garlic can lower blood pressure it may be unsafe for those with already low blood pressure.
Always check with your doctor to determine if garlic is right for you.
How I Use Garlic
Because of the benefit, I use garlic daily in some form:
I keep garlic powder, garlic salt, and minced garlic in the kitchen for easy use in cooking.
I finely mince 2-4 cloves a day or more and consume by taking a small spoonful at a time and washing down with water.
Fresh garlic cloves go into my salad dressings and fresh dishes.
I occasionally take garlic capsules for an extra boost.
Other ways to use garlic:
Simmer in olive oil to make garlic oil for earaches (put a few drops of cooled oil in the ear).
Treat thinning hair by applying garlic oil to the scalp.
Eat fermented garlic honey to boost the immune system during illness.
Garlic in the diet can be a natural remedy for group B strep during pregnancy (midwives advise eating a clove a day).
A footbath containing fresh cloves of garlic can help with athlete’s foot.
Reduce mosquitos in in your yard by using garlic-infused water on and around mosquito breeding areas.
Note: Garlic can be very strong, so try garlic oil or infused water before using straight garlic cloves on the skin.

I find myself binging more lately (since being home) and cognitively fighting myself and planning to restrict more and more which then causes me to binge more again and again out of “rebellion” against myself. literally: I am rebelling against nobody else but ME. why do I do this to myself? why am I always in a constant battle with myself? 
after a binge, I always find the same thought patterns:
- I'll just start restricting tomorrow. FUCK recovery, I miss anorexia and I'll go back to it because that’s all I know how to do!
- the only way to get a body I actually like is if I starve myself! I don’t fucking care about “happiness”, I'll be truly happy when I'm skinny.
- I'm working out for 1-2 hours tomorrow and everyday going forward after that. this summer I'm going to get super skinny by eating very very little and very specific foods/NOT eating a lot of foods and working out hard core every single day.
etc.
but in fact, I find that these thought patterns actually breed more self-rebellion, as I like to call it, and thus, binges. and then after a binge, another set of restrictive/ED relapse thought patterns occur, I semi-attempt to act on the restriction urges and consequently binge in a “fuck it” attitude of self-rebellion yet again.  why don’t I just do the workouts I enjoy and eat the foods I enjoy? will I really get fat? will I really get a body that I don’t recognize or don’t like at all? I'm not entirely sure but I'm not convinced either way.
like for instance, if I wanted eggs and avocado toast for breakfast one day, why don’t I let myself? it's not like eggs will immediately “bulk my thighs up” or “make my face bloated”, etc. if I want to do an hour of pilates in my room for 3 days in a row, why don’t I let myself? skipping cardio and just doing toning for 3 days won’t do me much harm if any at all! that truly would be listening to my body’s needs.  if I want to have some chips with salsa as an afternoon snack, why don’t I let myself have some without guilt? having guilt will only cause me to think “ah fuck it, the days already ruined!” and continue to then binge on lots and lots and LOTS of food (wasting money in the process as well!). what if I removed all rules I try to instate and reinstate for myself? the 12-hours-between-dinner-and-breakfast rule, the 3-to-4-water-bottles-per-day, the 60-minute-cardio-one-day-followed-by-60-minutes-of-toning-the-next-day, the absolutely-no-protein-for-at-least-one-hour-post-workout-so-i-don’t-bulk, etc. 
all of these mental guidelines that I have created for myself that actually hold me back from 1) mental happiness and clarity and 2) a truly healthy fit and beautiful body! sure, these mental guidelines may have helped me maintain anorexia for 4-5 years and thus helped me lose weight and basically maintain it for that time but they actually don’t work anymore because my brain has matured to a different level in which I self-rebel when I try to follow them. allowing more freedom in my diet and self compassion in my exercise routine will not, contrary to my own frequent belief, cause me to eat junk food all the damn time, work out basically never and balloon up to 200 pounds. I truly believe it will help me lose weight to a size (smaller than where I am now) where I look in the mirror and think “damn! she’s hot! skinny, toned, beautiful!” and can go to any social event any day of the week and not stress about what I ate during the day beforehand and what I will eat there/afterwards out of fear of binging, calories, gaining weight, etc.
one day at a time! there is no “perfect meal”, “perfect plate”, “perfect day of eating”, etc.! likewise, I don’t have to instate strict exercise routines (regimes, really) for myself in hopes of losing weight that I soon give up on hopelessly because they are NOT sustainable nor enjoyable by any means. 
for something to be effective, it must be sustainable and enjoyable. therefore, when I try to restrict my food and begin unsustainable-long-term “exercise routines” in hopes of losing weight to my “goal body”, I am setting myself up for FAILURE. that is not effective because it is highly unsustainable and highly unenjoyable! 
I should then begin to eat what I truly want and exercise in a way that I actually enjoy but still challenges me (because I truly enjoy a physical/mental challenge). if that means scrambled eggs for breakfast for 5 days + pilates for 5 days straight, so be it - that’s totally ok! if that means avocado toast + 4 mile runs for 5 days straight, so be it - that’s totally ok, too! 
I truly believe my body will begin to respond in the best way possible (natural sustainable weight loss) once I begin to let go and let my body tell me what she wants. the results will be incredibly pleasing and best of all, I'll be able to look back at old photos or clothes and be PROUD of where I came from and where I will never go back to because I will have found a way to maintain the goal body that I have wanted for all of my adolescence/young adulthood!

In our travelling circles the question of the value of labor has been finely discussed. There are even subjunctions of the movement entirely dedicated to its cause; you have National Socialism and National Bolshevism, with individuated parties ranging in size and scope. The Traditionalist Workers Party is the most notable example that comes to my mind.
More often than not, the analysis directed toward the question of labor is (unsurprisingly) one of critique and pragmatism. It is noted, with acuminous alacrity, that a man’s identity is tied into and integral with what he does. It could be further said that a man *is* what he does. The main problem with this associative thinking being that when a man is, say, robbed of his work or his lot, than he shrivels up and blows away in the industrial gust.

That, obviously, is a serious concern. To that end, many of our guys have, with beneficent intent, stipulated that man must have a core identity beyond mere work and lot. A man may work, he may be married, but he is more than that. One would, I think, be a fool or the worst kind of AmCap to legitimately and unironically argue that point.
However, there is an opposite side to that coin. In the wake of Modernism, in the wake of Post-Modernism and the increasingly futile isms that have come in their wake you delve increasingly, and by necessity, into the reactionary realm. I do not use the word flatteringly. In this case reactionism is a harmful influence, for it causes a pendular effect on the White psyche in which decidedly extreme outcomes are repeatedly traded in an utterly futile attempt to reclaim the now forgotten center.
You cannot reclaim the center from the extremities. You have to, and follow this revolutionary thought Brothers, meet it in the middle. What is the center? It is balance, equanimity, stability and consistency – overall. The center is not a particular ideological component beyond the necessity of having an even keel to retreat to, if for nothing more than to formulate your direction and directive. The center is a state of being. It is one of the major contributors to the formation of a lasting Folk Soul which have all been robbed us.
In the life of an individual man there are a collective of passing achievements that God or Nature, or Nature’s God have conditioned him to measure his worth and progress by. A man should have a stable, productive and contributory job. A man should have a stable, productive and cooperative marriage. A man should have a stable, positive influence in his selective community. A puffer raised in a freshwater environment will not reach its full growth potential nor have the vibrant coloration of a saltwater puffer.

Their bulging eyes, rounded bellies and leopard spot patterns indeed make them a unique addition to a freshwater tank. Disney movies have undoubtedly led to the increased popularity of this fish among aquarium owners. Make no mistake; green spotted puffers are natural born killers. They do not make good community fish. This species is best delegated to a mono-species tank for both its brackish water needs and its predatory instinct. Although puffers are not shoaling fish they are tolerant of conspecifics. This makes them even more eligible for a mono-species tank.
Puffers have rock hard beaks and razor sharp teeth. In the wild their diet consists of other fish, crustaceans, mollusks and insects. These voracious carnivores can bite right through hard shell clams. It is nothing for them to take a hefty bite out of another fish in a community tanks setting. Juvenile puffers (especially when introduced to an established population) may seem docile perhaps even timid. But it is only a matter of time before their predatory nature takes over. If you choose to disregard this warning, be prepared to loose members of your community tank as your puffer matures and establishes its own territorial boundaries in its new surroundings. Extreme caution should be used in choosing a puffers tank mates. Larger, more aggressive species have a better chance of holding their own against these tenacious little buggers. Avoid mixing them with long finned species such as bettas and angelfish. Puffers are notorious fin nippers. If fish suddenly start dying or have segments of fin or body tissue missing you puffer is almost certainly the culprit. Puffers become far more aggressive as adults. They can reach up to six inches long when fully mature. Keep this in mind when deciding what other species to mix them with. The adorable little puffer in the fish store is just a baby.
In order to thrive, puffers need a high protein diet. While flake food is acceptable, additional protein supplements will help maintain a puffer's long-term health and color palette. Young puffer fish can be fed frozen or freeze-dried krill or plankton. Ghost shrimp, and small insects, worms and snails also make appropriate menu items. Snails are considered an essential part of a proper puffer's nutritional regiment. Mollusks and crustaceans are a large part of a puffer's dietary intake in the wild. A puffer's teeth will continue to grow even after it has reached full maturity. Their teeth can actually overgrow to the point of filling their entire mouth cavity. This can and will lead to eventual starvation. Dietary supplements of hard shelled mollusks will help keep a puffer's teeth trimmed. Adult puffers can be fed scallops, shrimp, whole mussels, clams, oysters, crayfish and even crab legs. Puffers are messy eaters. They generate a lot of waste both in expulsion and in uneaten food particles. Routine partial water changes are essential for optimum health.
The ideal water temperature for this species is 78-82 °F. An alkaline based pH of around 8 is considered perfect. Adding Aragonite or crushed coral to your substrate will help naturally establish stable alkaline parameters. A minimum tank size of 30 gallons is recommended. An abundance of tank décor to break the puffer's line of sight and help it to establish its own territorial boundaries is highly recommended. This will help diminish aggressive behavior.
