#thank GOD Hamlet isn’t necessary for a war effort or something
Text
Hamlet and Horatio have a lot of Achilles and Patroclus parallels. Hamlet reminds me of Achilles on vibes alone. Mopey, dramatic, supposed to be important but only does anything when he feels like it. Horatio and Patroclus both provide impulse control. I feel like Patroclus is farther along on the “ugh fuck this” scale by the time his story starts than Horatio is, but he definitely gets there by the end of the play. And they’re both surprisingly devoted to two of the worst people ever.
