I probably said this before but I really don’t get it when people (dabb apologists) go “oh my god you don’t miss kripke era you just miss early seasons aesthetics🙄” as if cinematography and, you know, the mood decent directing creates are just The Cherry On Top and not like.😭😭😭😭 an equally important part of tv as a, you know, visual medium, as the script¿ like an episode can have all the fun ideas or good character work or whatever but if it puts me to sleep it’s still bad. lol

#also they’re always like ‘OMG kripke era is just as silly and inconsistent as the rest of the show!!!!!!’ and like dhrudhdhdhheherhhrhfh. #I know. I know! you dont have to post this since you said you didn't want to write more abt it but honestly idg why fandom hunts down 'subtext' via insane reaching in carver or dabb eras when s-4-6 for d/s/t/l was very, VERY nearly text for them, esp. 6.20. like what's the point ? post 7.01 it was pretty much all trash

tbh i kind of get it lol like that's the thing. i love complaining but i hate that i come as off as such a killjoy cause i! genuinely think that even reaching and making shit up with gay subtext is super fun like it's FUN to drive yourself a little crazy like that i do that stuff with other ships. and carverdabb are Very. Um. well i think someone actually timed the amount of dean-cas interactions in them and it is. Small. so i get the urge to make shit up and it can be fun but that's not what the fandom does😭😭😭 what drives me crazy is how people insist that these readings were the intention when 99.999% of these things are shit that like. genuinely. you would have NOT connected these dots if not for fandom ""pointing them out"" and repeating them like gospel. like i got to carver era and stuff i was watching for the first time and it was SO different than how fandom talks about it it was just JARRING like WHAT in ALL FUCK are you guys talking about. and don't get me started on pretending that the jack thing was ever even for a second some kind of happy found family thing for dean when it was always ALWAYS bad for him (AND FOR JACK) and if anything only gave meaning and healing for SAM. who people pretend doesn't exist or doesn't get storylines in late seasons like ok. and just. idk it bothers me cause these readings are usually unfair to dean cause they erase his motivations and what he's going through AND they usually also erase a lot of the shit cas does to him and paint dean as the only one who's wrong in the rs and it's just. both annoying as one of Those over sensitive deangirls and also just not interesting to me
