the thing that nurses and other healthcare workers who talk shit about patients publicly dont understand is that even though customer service is an aspect of any healthcare job involving patient interaction, its still a very different ballgame than regular customer service 😂

like you can absolutely bitch about somebody whos just buying an item from you and being a dick about it and i sure will. i work pharmacy and i get people all the time who use the pharmacy as a cashier station and expect to be catered to like its our only job and those people? i AM allowed to discuss because theyre just customers being dicks and theyre in the wrong.

but the second someones health becomes involved you have to put that to the side because someone divulging health info to you, no matter how shittily, is trusting you with some incredibly personal information and that information deserves to be respected. without any sort of discrimination.

and also if you work in healthcare and make fun of people for how they look/walk/how their body functions while theyre under your care youre just an asshole and you shouldnt be trusted with the job <3

#and like yeah when epople are being hostile or disruptive theyre still in the wrong but the thing is that all healthcare places #have protocol and a legit plan in place for when that happens and that plan does not involve #publicly shaming someone for not conducting themself with perfect grace while dealing with something #that is very often a major stresor in their life... #our job is to make it less stressful. that is the service we provide. its called patient care
