#personal; sort of #not to get emotional on work equivalent monday but im sleep deprived and thinking about a twitter thread i read where (white) editors have #trouble thinking that minority families can be happy or living in the suburbs and still be realistic and compelling #it was a series of embedded threads and one of them was about how asian parents can be shitty to their kids #specially asian immigrant parents in america and yeah some of them can be #absuive and homophobic and punishing etc but there will always always br parents who love their kids no matter circumstances #its not gonna be everyone. god knows thats how it is for me. i hate feeling like i contribute ti stereitypes #but a) there will always be asian parents who unconditionallylove their kids and b) i can see the grains of love in my own relationship with #my parents. that does not necessarily forgive what theyve donr to me. but i cannot simply pretend like the love wadnt thete #also in the interedt of beungcompletely honedt my parents were not as shitty to me as oyherpeoples parentshave beeni was notbadly beaten and #the anti queer sentiment has been minimal mostly because i have not come out #but yeah. at the end of the lovr is ehat matters. all kinds of love. eventhat strange and ephemeral love for strangers #i do love humanity. but we all need to understand the most vulnerable members of our world need it the most
