For yet another character meme: Amber!

1) Uncommon headcanon about them I am deeply attached to.

Pophead Amber.  Even better, hyperpop fan!Amber.  Knubbler is the only one who understands and appreciates her tastes.

2) Widely-held headcanon about them that I reject.

I think she likes Seth :).  My feelings flip-flop between her being 100% ride or die for Seth at all times, or having conflicting feelings about her direction in life, but still caring about Seth.  I think both of these are more widespread than the idea of Amber hating her husband, but yeah.  Seth and Amber are in love.

3) What were they like as a kid? What was their early life like?

Quiet kid, always kinda stuck in her own head.  I don’t know whether she was an only child, or if she had tons of siblings.  She didn’t smile a lot because she had braces and she was embarrassed about showing them off.  She was in Seth’s friend group in high school before they started dating as adults.  Spent a lot of her time in online message boards, often stirring up drama to get back at girls she didn’t like.

4) Symbols/motifs that I associate with them–colors, animals, zodiac signs, mythic themes, imagery, objects, etc.

pink.  fuchsia.  magenta.  As far as animals go, butterflies.  Because it’s pretty, but it’s also an insect that could get caught in amber.  Her instrument is the marimba (this whole family of percussion instruments is2g).

5) Other characters or types of people I have in mind when I draw and/or write them.

Both her and Seth give me Varrick and Zhu Li from Legend of Korra vibes.  But honestly, a lot of my portrayals of her are inspired by the music I associate with her.  I can’t separate her from my playlist.  She is a pink iPod Nano of a woman and I love her for that.

6) What I project onto them when I draw and/or write them.

In my fic, she does have a bit of an inferiority complex, so there’s that.  This idea of feeling like you’re stuck in a world you don’t belong in.  Idk, it’s there.  I drew her in a hanbok yesterday, but that was a one-off projection, idk if it’s an actual headcanon of mine yet.

7) A surprising hobby, interest, or phobia they have.

She loves dancing and she can code.  She’s afraid of gore, so obviously she loves her husband’s new gig.
