Oh man. So many people online would really not last through a bachelor or master's course in text and literature. Y'all know nothing of nuance and being able to disagree without making it a moral judgement. So man of y'all wouldn't last a seminar, I swear

#text_iris #this is about a lot of things. a lot of situations #reading about why a book doesn't have a trigger warning because literature is fundamentally an uncomfortable engagement #like. y'all would've lost your minds. even if the point made is that that IS your tw. it IS your warning and your alert #YOU are responsible for your own engagement of texts and if you cannot do so that is FINE. totally fair! #their tw functions similarly to the 'author chose not to give warnings'! they know there may be content that could trigger and THIS is it #this is the warning #anyway i have many thoughts and honestly taking a BA in english has given me an insight i never had #it has taught me nuance and the ability to disagree without condemnation #it has also taught me that online circles can be exhausting and frustrating #anyway. if you want to broaden your perspective pick up a college/uni text about literature and analysis. trust me #it may be dry as hell but it's rewarding when you can learn from it
