as a late arrival… can you give me a super brief elevator pitch on parousia? I love every bit of art you've shared, the characters and lines are gorgeous

ok so gonna try to shorten as much as possible sorry if it’s still long putting this under a read more !

Parousia follows the story of Syr mystical and three friends he meets on his journey to parousia, the biggest city with the tallest mountain in the land, which is where the gods reincarnate at the very top each time they pass away, his father Myster is essentially a tyrant of the land and the most powerful sorcerer and has disowned syr for failing to meet his standards under the family name

syrs journey is meant to prove to his father he is worthy of being under the family name once again but along the way he discovers the horrors of his bloodline, and realizes he himself is a demigod and that his mother ( propin ) was slaughtered and her soul was used as a power source and that her being missing for all of these years since his birth has created an imbalance in the land, propin being the goddess of love provides a balance, and that balance has been disrupted, now more than ever the land and its people have fallen to ruin and heightened violence and the gods roaming the land have been disrupted

pre, mother of all gods is responsible for reincarnating everyone and she lives in the sky, and she never speaks to anyone or does anything but her job, pre “cries” at times before tragedy, and these are called mother tears, these “tears” solidify when they reach the ground and are capable of trapping souls, something the myster family has been doing for a while with mortal souls but finally was able to do with a god soul, all kinds of magic can be used safely with a soul as a power source, but mortal souls dwindle and fade away if used like that, ceasing from existence, god souls however do not, and this breakthrough puts all gods at risk, if mortal man can over power gods not only is the balance disrupted but there is no one to warn them or save them

and that is what syrs purpose becomes, he learns his tradition, he begins to have real family and care for others, he unlearns the cruelty his father instilled in him, and takes his title as god of passion, and his goal to make it to parousia changes from wanting to meet his father and beg for forgiveness to going to parousia to kill his father for his crimes against him and humanity
