"The National Team of Bangladesh reached the semi finals of SAFF 2023 after 14 years thanks to their indomitable force and spirit of progress.
The Argentina Futbol Association hopes that the success of Bangladesh continues in the future" (AFA official facebook page)
Tumblr media
I won’t ever get tired of Argentina's romance with Bangladesh. Since we, argentinians, found out that people from Bangladesh supported with the same love and passion our national team during the last world cup, is all love around. The official page of Argentina Futbol Association (AFA) continues (even seven months later) to congratulate Bangladesh everytime they get an achievement in sports. But not only that, the media in Argentina also share these kind of news and those posts are full of likes.
Tumblr media
"Let's go Bangladesh!
The Bangladesh National Team of Cricket got an exciting victory of one wicket against India.
Mehidy Miraz and Mustafizur Rahman were the heroes of the game.
From Argentina we congratulate and celebrate this huge victory."
(Argentinian popular media congratulating Bangladesh for their victory in Cricket) please the emojis are everything
Some Argentinians even started a fan page to support the Bangladesh national team of cricket. I can’t explain how unpopular that sport is here, yet people will support it just to show love in return.
Tumblr media
"Symbolic alliance and mutual love: the group of argentinian fans of Bangladesh
As a form to show gratitude to the Bangladeshi support to our national team, Dan Lande- better known as Rulo de Viaje- created on Facebook a group of fans to the National Team of Bangladesh of Cricket. An phenomenon that collected in less than ten days 170k members of both countries and become into an intercultural exchange that goes beyond football." (source Telam)
And this is what makes this story beautiful, is how Argentinian people felt that they had to return the love and support to Bangladesh. People could have reacted in a very different way, ignoring them or even feeling they weren’t real albiceleste fans because they are from a different country. But people welcomed the love, think of Bangladesh fans as equal, and are making efforts to make sure that Bangladesh people feel the love back.
Dibu Martinez, the goalkeeper of Argentina national team, just visited Bangladesh and he was welcomed by thousands of people. I just hope this romance last forever and makes our countries siblings.
The European press talked shit about our victory in the world cup, but Argentina winning was the joy of the people of the world that play football in the streets and dream...

The magic is back, the light is back, the color is back, the happiness is back. I am back, the duchess. I don't know if you heard about the alleged infidelity scandal of several players of the Argentine national soccer team. It was at the party they had after the match against Uruguay. It all started when a model uploaded to her stories a screenshot of a message she received asking for "elegant" models (in the context of Argentina that means a blonde girl with blue eyes, skinny and tall) for a party with the national team, paying for plane tickets and $1500. That girl didn't go but the next day on Twitter, another model, told in a thread everything that happened at the party. She said that she had no proof of that because as is the norm at such parties, the PR people and security took away her cell phone before entering. This girl said that several national team players cheated on their wives at these parties. Among them were Paulo Dybala (who just got engaged), Nicolas Otamendi and Angel Di Maria (he told her not to tell anyone she saw him there). The thing does not end there, another model, commented on the Twitter thread that after the party there was an after party and that there joined Enzo Fernandez (who recently became a father for the second time with his girlfriend) and Leandro Paredes (also Dybala's name reappeared). The girl who was with Leandro Paredes wrote to his wife on Instagram telling her that her husband was unfaithful and she replied that she knew perfectly well what her husband did and did not do. Besides that she was going to defend Leandro if that kind of slander continued. The one who seems to be in the eye of the storm is Paulo Dybala because he got engaged to his girlfriend a few weeks ago after 5 years together. In the Twitter thread many people commented that Dybala is a terrible cheater and womanizer. Because of the party that takes place in Cordoba (Argentine county where Dybala was born) and he is there, party where he ends up having sex with women. Also it was commented in the thread that until a few months ago, he was still looking for his ex-girlfriend. In spite of everything, except for Leandro Paredes' wife, no one involved said anything about it. Anyway, most people don't believe these girls because they have no proof of what they say, even though the message of the party was real and very specific in what kind of women they were looking for for the party, people think they are just looking for fame. As long as they are not Messi and Dibu Martinez, I still believe in love. Thank God their names weren't mentioned once in that Twitter thread. I was late in bringing the gossip because it was only 3 days ago that this whole thing blew up.

Duchess you've made me sad with this message ☹️ even if it's just rumours/speculation at the moment this is making me so disappointed with these football players.. I'll never understand the logic behind cheating on your partner. If you don't want to be with them, then let them go, there's no need for heartbreak..

I am 100% sure there are lots of footballers (or athletes in general) that struggle with their mental health bc of huge pressure, social media abuse, fake rumors etc but unfortunately the media, fans or whoever wont care until something really bad happens bc that’s the world we live in sadly:( I think especially the media need to take more responsibility on what they write bc as it is now they love to hype some players only for later on do everything to bring them down…its disgusting really, but like I said most people wont care until something really bad happens… // Dibu Martinez has been talking about mental health for years, and now he openly talks about therapy and that more players should probably go, because the “journalists” and some fans most time say such nasty things it affects them on a personal level, they can’t function properly (even in their daily lives). In Latam we had players who ended their lives, and it’s just so depressing. More players should come forward with the talk, and people shouldn’t be as insulting as many of them are😕

Nicolas Gonzalez on winning the Copa America with Argentina, Lionel Messi
Nicolas Gonzalez spoke about winning the Copa America with Argentina, what it meant for Lionel Messi, his response to the Brazilian players, Lionel Scaloni and the World Cup.
Gonzalez was a regular starter for Argentina in their Copa America winning campaign. Despite not starting the final itself, Gonzalez was often in the starting eleven, on the left side of the pitch. And while he didn’t start the final, he was present as Lionel Messi gave his speech before the match. Speaking in an interview with Ole, here is what Gonzalez revealed about Messi:
“Before the final, Messi told us that playing against them (Brazil) at the Maracaná was a miracle. And that they had the cup there for us to to win it. When be said that, more than one of us got goosebumps.
“When the match just ended, we all went to hug Messi because we knew what it meant for him. And also for Kun (Aguero), for Fideo (Angel Di Maria) and Otamendi, that have been fighting for it for so long. That it happened this way is something unique that they won’t ever forget.
“On a day to day basis, Messi was very comfortable and happy with all the boys. And this was later reflected on the pitch. You have to enjoy Messi because for the Argentine, he is everything.
“Seeing him as happy as a kid in a toy store is engraved in the head of every player.”
In addition, Gonzalez also commented on Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni:
“I’m very thankful to Scaloni. There are coaches that back you a lot and he is one of them. He backs his player to the death. He waited for me until the end. I enjoy Scaloni, he makes me play freely. There’s a lot of joy in every one of the players.”
As we posted a few days ago, there was back and forth posts between a few of the Argentina players and Richarlison of Brazil. Gonzalez even spoke about that:
“How are we going to tell the Brazilians something? Leave them alone, that they keep crying. I think the pictures of Dibu (Emiliano Martinez) and Rodrigo (De Paul) were very good. It was incredible how much I laughed when I saw them but let them talk because we are happy with (winning) the Copa America in their home.”
In regards to what and how much it cost the team to win the Copa America:
“It was very difficult to be isolated for 45 days. We all went for one objective: To win the Copa America. Every day we were focused on that, no one ever deviated away from it. Thankfully it happened but we thought a lot about our families, some became fathers and couldn’t see their kids. But we were focused in bringing joy to the people and we came back from Brazil happy.”
And finally, Gonzalez commented on the World Cup:
“The Argentine will always ask for more. We will do our best to fight until the very end at the World Cup in Qatar, just as we have been doing and how the guys before us did.”
