tell me about the naruto OCs training? I love learning about characters training also some of the outfits you want to draw.

So I have a good number of Naruto OCs at this point, but the first couple were some genin made to join a team some of my friends made with their own OCs. Most of our characters come from Shimogakure because there is 0 canon info on it so we STOLE it.

My two are Kegawa, the daughter of a clan head and also illegitimate child of an Inuzuka, and Seiko, a civilian child who is training in the ninja arts behind their rich parents' backs. I'll focus more on the two of them since they're the ones that belong to me, but we also have Orutan, an orphan who got lost, wandered into the training field during stealth practice, and impressed the teacher (owned by @flyingmintbunny0 ) Minori, daughter of a Shimo anbu and a Kumo jounin, and their teacher, Fuyune, a jounin with an ice kekkei genkai! (Both owned by @galaxynite )

Seiko

Kegawa's plot has a lot to do with her desperately trying to fit within the perfect standards society expects of her, but not having the personality for it. She's got a wild side deep down that she struggles to contain when she gets excited or is having fun. Her mom always gets touchy about her Inuzuka parent, but in a rare act of rebellion she stole the summoning scroll that was left behind for her and got two little fox companions! Thus her training involves a lot of figuring out how to work as a team with them. In keeping with the theme of her trying to fit what she thinks she's supposed to do, she's aiming to specialize in taijutsu, but she will eventually discover a talent for fuinjutsu. Her arc involves finding a balance between being herself and mindful of the people around her. Her foxes reflect this! Aomaru is impulsive and wild, only has a mind for fun and will act without listening to or consulting her team. Shiromaru is so timid she's afraid to ask for help, which can land the whole team in as much hot water as Aormaru's aggressiveness.

Seiko has ridiculous natural talent when it comes to genjutsu, so it was easy for them to pick that as a specialization. Now the thing about Seiko is this: they're not from the ninja world. While they romanticized the idea as being their way to freedom from their oppressive home life, the more they're involved, the more they watch. They listen. They think. They start to think the ninja aren't as good as they thought. They start to think the ninja world is a machine made of monsters, and they and their friends are being thrown into it. Basically, Seiko is going to become a major antagonist as time goes on. For now, though, they're a 13yo kid who's training with their friends. The main technique they're developing slowly makes the target lose touch with their senses. Ideally, they won't even realize they're caught under the spell until it's too late, and they can no longer move. Seiko's moveset will continue to develop more sinister techniques. They're not a very good physical fighter, so they're built more to be devestating support for their team.

The most fun part about writing a training arc in this setting, though, is how the characters learn about chakra and types of combat and figure out how to categorize themselves. For example: chakra paper! It can test for what nature your chakra is, meaning techniques matching your nature will be far more accessible. Seiko is Earth and Kegawa is both Wind and Water, though her clan can only manifest them together as ice (distinct from the kekkei genkai variant.)

Furthermore, a BIG part of this era in the story is all five (seven, if you count the foxes,) characters learning to work together as a team in combat! As they develop their specializations and techniques, they will be built with supporting each others' weaknesses in mind. Seiko, especially, is almost purely support, and can handle a lot of espionage work outside the context of combat. Kegawa is a striker who is also great at being a distraction or tracking, since she and her summons are like a mini team within the team. Orutan and Minori also have strong offensive abilities, with Minori specifically having a good grasp on weapons, ninja tools, and even a little interrogation.

It all provides an excellent backdrop for the characters to learn more about each other and build bonds, too! And boy will they get into trouble way before they're ready to put their new combat styles to the test lmao

As for their outfits! They have chuunin exam variants that I want to give proper digital refs, and they also need proper refs for their adult/jounin designs. Also I like the idea of giving them slight changes after achieving chuunin rank. That's all I have in mind for now, but vacation outfits or pretty dresses are never off the table.
