It was time for a nice quiet evening.
Valdemar was resistant to attend. Edgy, more so. But neither had a good enough reason not to.
With the Core running at its full potential, the lab itself seemed to run autonomously. It left many with the newfound luxury of free time. And Valdemar lacking the inspiration for giving the staff a new goal to work towards, it wasn’t difficult to clear a conference room for a family night.
The table was covered with the remnants of dinner. A pizza, of all things, was baked for the large group. A small Sans was still working on a crispy slice while watching his double intently.
Edgy only shifted. It was weird being stared at by a kid.
“You should’a eat one,” Sans blurted out. “It’s good.”
“I like your mom's cooking better.” Edgy replied quickly. It was an instant victory. The child couldn’t argue without taking away the prideful smile his mother was now wearing.
Valdemar hardly seemed to notice, as he was busy passing small premade kits for jewelry making. Each kit containing spools of metal, gem beads, and other assorted items. “Don’t open your box until your hands are clean.” He says sternly. This was perhaps aimed at his oldest son, who was already ready to open his own lid. “No one wants to wear their dinner.”
“Okay.” No complaints from the child. Can’t disappoint dad. He takes a napkin and quickly starts to clean the sauce and crumbs off his hands.
