Aqua Teen Hunger Force #9: “MC Pee Pants” | May 19, 2002 - 11:30 PM | S02E04

Meatwad won’t stop listening to MC Pee Pants, a new artist who raps about candy. The obsession drives his roommates nuts and eventually spreads to Carl, and they form an UNUSUAL bond. Turns out in a shocking twist, MC Pee Pants is actually the giant spider from the Dr. Weird intro! It’d been several episodes since Dr. Weird’s cold open had ANYTHING whatsoever to do with the actual plot of any given episode, hence me being genuinely surprised to see MC Pee Pant’s secret identity teased at the start of the show. SEE? This is a smart, adult show, for big guys like me.

This one’s real funny, and it revolves around a genuinely fun song from MC Chris. I remember one time I mentioned MC Chris to somebody and somebody I knew was like “is that the guy who does the song ‘I Want Candy’“? and after pressing them they were somehow blissfully unaware of Aqua Teen Hunger Force or Adult Swim. This baffled me at the time, but I SUPPOSE I’ll allow it.

There’s a lotta good lines in this, a particular favorite is when Shake is threatening to beat Meatwad with a guitar, and Meatwad is like “I don't wanna get hit with a guitar neck, I'm pretty young”, haha. There’s also the bit where Meatwad trick or treats as Elvis, which is real cute. I love the few episodes where Carl and Meatwad inexplicably get along. I guess Carl’s heart is just so big that he can take a shining to a “just a little guy” once in a while. That’s nice.
