Wriddhiman Saha Controversy

Saha was recently dropped from the Indian team and was directly told by the coach Rahul Dravid that he isn’t in team management plans and they want to look at youngsters. Saha was then told they won’t play Ranji Trophy as he has no chance of getting into the Indian Team.

Then on 19th of February Saha put a post on twitter alleging that a fellow journalist asked him for an interview. But when Saha refused to give the interview the so called journalist threatened him and talked to him in a rude manner and indirectly threatened him of dire consequences and he said he won't take insults like this. When Saha alleged this in public , he got public support and everybody and there was huge public outcry and BCCI was compelled to make a committee and to look into this matter.

Saha then said that he won’t take the name of the journalist as he doesn't want to ruin the career of that journalist. Then the BCCI enquiry committee called Wriddhiman Saha to come forward to represent his case Infront of them. During theenquiry Saha told the name and now today so called journalist Boria Majumdar came out.

Boria Majumdar claimed that the so-called journalist was him and he put out his part of the story. He alleged Saha of tampering evidence and alleged that Saha did this all to gain sympathy and now he will be serving a legal defamation notice to Saha.

Pujara, Rahane, Pandya get demoted in BCCI central contracts

Veteran batters Cheteshwar Pujara and former Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane were downgraded in the latest central contracts list of the BCCI that was ratified by the Board's Apex Council on Wednesday.

The BCCI has four categories -- A+ which has annual remuneration of Rs 7 crore while A, B and C categories are valued at Rs 5 crore, Rs 3 crore and Rs 1 crore respectively.

Accordingly, Pujara and Rahane, who were in Grade A are now in Grade B, after a slump in form that saw them being dropped from the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka.

That they will be downgraded was reported by PTI on January 20.

The biggest demotion, however, was for injury-ravaged all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who has been shunted out from Grade A to C in the list.

Controversial keeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha, who has been dropped from the Test team, will still be richer by Rs 1 crore after being demoted from group B to C.

David Warner’s throwback video of a sword-wielding celebration has attracted a lot of reaction from Indian cricketers. The sword-wielding celebration which has made famous by India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, was tried by David Warner during last year’s IPL. Not only Jadeja but India captain Virat Kohli and wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha too reacted to Warner’s sword-wielding celebration using the bat.

While Kohli and Saha reacted with emoticons, Jadeja, said “Hahahaah almost there David.”

Warner had shared a video from his IPL stint with Sunrisers Hyderabad last season, where he can be seen swinging his bat like a warrior during a shoot for a commercial. He immediately breaks into laughter once the director says cut. The swinging of the bat like this is a trademark celebration style of Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

Warner asked his fans to tell him whether he came close to Jadeja or not.

Warner captioned the post as: “Throwback to this time last year to a commercial we were doing for @sunrisershyd Do you think I have got @royalnavghan covered for the sword,” Warner wrote in the post.

  Warner has been quite active on social media ever since people al over the world were asked to stay indoors and practice social distancing in the wake of the coronavirus crisis. The southpaw has been in good form ever since his return to international cricket after serving a year’s ban for his involvement in the ball tampering controversy.

Warner is fourth in the list of highest run getter in IPL, behind the Indian trio of Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma. He leads the field among overseas cricketers, a fair margin ahead of the likes Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers.
