so feet and inches... in french, it's "feet and thumbs"... which i believe is because the imperial system was based on various customary european measurements parts before getting standardized, and i believe several areas actually used their ruler's body parts as a reference... WAIT IS THAT WHY THE INSTRUMENT WE USE TO MEASURE LENGTH IS CALLED A RULER?? i'm even more confused than i was before. but yeah looks more like a feudalism kink than a foot one at this point lmao

Yeah, I get it in the idk middle age or something you didn’t have a standardized measurement so you just used feet and thumbs and forearms and whatnot to measure.
But pls. Just use cm and m and km. Don’t make me Google “inch to cm” every time an American tells me how big something is 😭
