There's much to love about Tom Sturridge's portrayal of Morpheus but one aspect that I REALLY love about his performance is the way he moves.
He moves with the grace of a king and like how you'd expect a powerful being beyond human comprehension would move, but also like every step, every tiny gesture, everything is calculated and on purpose. It came across as natural for him, but not natural as in 'effortless' but rather as a result of an eternity of conscious practice.
It really nailed the gravity that Morpheus has and also conveyed just how much this character is so painfully aware of his role and his duties and how much he tries to keep everything under control lest things fall apart—including how he presents himself, down to the tiniest movement.
Comic!Morpheus isn't nearly as reserved and composed in his movements as show!Morpheus is because comics as a medium have to convey as much informations as possible with still images. You can't convey that grace and gravity of movement the way the show did in the comic. He might come across as stiff and unnatural if he was drawn with minimal movement.

But you can do that in moving images, and Tom Sturridge nailed that aspect of the characters perfectly
It's no wonder he swept so hard in the audition for the role of Morpheus. He really understood the assignment and had been doing his homework.

I decided I wanted to know how Tom's Morpheus would look with comic book style Robert Smith hair and the eyes. I think I'm into it!
Note: this is an edit and I didn't paint it, just airbrushed a photo and drew in the hair and added some detail to the eyes. It was fun though!

All around me darkness gathers,
Fading is the sun that shone,
We must speak of other matters,
You can be me when I'm gone
