i loved that part in anatomy of a fall where the husband is like "you impose english on me you don't let me speak in french you've even taught it to our son" and she's like "english is a middle ground my first language is german that's what english was invented for" he really thought he ate he really thought he'd won with that one he forgot his wife's first language oh my god.! and he took her to live in bumfuck france!!!
