Merlin and Arthur are fighting the creature that can be killed by magic and magic only. Arthur: *passes out* Merlin: *defeats the creature* Arthur: *wakes up from his beauty sleep* Are we still alive? Merlin: Yep, you defeated the creature. Arthur: I did? Merlin: You did. Arthur: ... Merlin: ... Arthur: *oblivious as hell* Sure, I defeated the creature.

The humanirarian point of view aside, the quality of this "teacher" is non-existent. And if people like him teach on such university, what kind of people teach elsewhere?

I'm from non-english speaking country, and i have university degree in chemistry. At university, we had mandatory english classes (makes sense) and we were SUPPOSED TO learn industrial, highly technical english to be able to talk about our thesis and such.

The materials we worked with in our classes? They were from website "chemistry for kids". I kid you not.

I love when this happens!!!

I have this one friend who i don't see very often, so we're not super close or anything... And after some time of carefully testing our limits (starting with "what Hogwarts house are you?") i've mentioned translating something for a project.

And I said "it's even alowed to translate fanfiction"

And she just casually mentioned fanfic that She read the other day.

I was like "you too?????"

And we spent the rest of the day talking about fanfics. It was awesome.

Just found out today that my friend posts fanfiction as well.

She told me, nervously, that she posts her writing. And I was like oh! me too!

And her eyes lit up, I’m saying, LIT. UP.

She was like… what do you write?

I was like… fanfiction.

And she was like girl…

ME TOO!

I asked where she posts her writing.

She whispered “Ao3.”

Girl…

ME TOO.

The duration of our conversation included giggling and talking about our fandoms like maniacs.

The best feeling is when you’re able to invite a friend into your secret world of fandoms and fanfiction.

This is so infuriating... I am lucky to not live in the US (i'm from Central Europe), and my experience with education is wastly different. In grade 7 (13yo) i broke my leg really badly, and i spent 3 months at home. Not only i wasn't in any trouble, i didn't have to repeat a year and i actually managed to improve my grades. In the same year, my classmate was diagnosed with leukemia. She missed a whole year, but She had a tutor in hospital (provided by the hospital for free) and the school accepted it and let her continue into the next grade with no issues... All of ours appointments, doctor visits, relapses when we had to stay home for a few days were automatically excused with no punishment... I can't imagine dealing with your system on top of dealing with my injury (and i realize my friends leukemia was waaaaay worse then my broken leg)....

When I say “school should be disability accessible”, I don’t just mean we need handicap rails and EAs. Kids should be able to miss a day without failing out of school. You shouldn’t be dismissed from clubs because your attendance record is “spotty” (true story). I once missed an entire week of school because of a terrible, unending migraine. I was expected to keep up with my studies despite the blinding pain that came with working on my computer. When I heard my teachers say that you couldn’t miss exams, I asked what I would have to do to be excused from them. Their response? “Either get a doctor’s note an hour before the exam or death of an immediate family member.”

I cannot express how rigid this expectation was. First of all, with my condition, I wouldn’t have enough warning about my sickness to go to the doctor and request a note. For many people, this is exceptionally difficult, especially with the current shortage of medical professionals. Next, it ignores the fact that my schedule may not line with theirs because of my medical needs. Once, I had to visit a hospital a province away (which I was on the waiting list of for over a year) on the same day as an exam. I begged my mother not to take me because I was so nervous that I would be marked as an automatic fail. I was lucky enough to make it work, but that’s only because of my spectacular support system consisting of family members and wonderful doctors.

Disabilities aren’t always about needing a bus that can accommodate wheelchairs. It’s already difficult enough for many of us to maintain school attendance without the harsh punishments involved for skipping a day. We need to be able to miss school without being punished. Only than can you claim that the school is “accessible”

Merlin was caught doing magic at a time when Uther was still King. He’s in the dungeon now and awaiting his execution.

Arthur comes to him late in the evening expecting some answers but Merlin sees through Arthur’s tough demeanour that he’s confused, worried and scared, so it’s Merlin that tells him not to worry, that everything will be fine, that it is okay.

But Arthur only gets more agitated by Merlin’s calm behaviour:

Arthur: What am I supposed to tell your mother? Hunith?

Merlin: She’ll get a letter. That will explain everything.

Arthur: A letter? When did you had time to write a letter?

Merlin: I always write one preventively when I think it’s a close call. Then Gaius only has to send it.

Arthur: How… how many close calls have there been?

Merlin: A few.

Then Arthur storms off, at first randomly through the castle then he heads to the Court Physician and Merlin’s room. Gaius tries to stop him but the Prince of Camelot doesn’t take no for an answer, demanding the letters. It’s more than a few and Arthur opens and reads every single one about all the reckless times Merlin used magic for good. For him.

When he’s done processing it Arthur storms off again but this time straight to Morgana’s chambers.

She berates him for entering without even knocking, let alone permission.

Morgana: How dare you storming in here, don’t you have any manners??

Arthur: What are you planning?

Morgana: Excuse you, what?

Gwen awkwardly looks between them. Arthur looks at her as well.

Arthur: I know you are planning something to get him out. Merlin. What is it?

Morgana: Why would I tell you? If I were planning something. Hypothetically. Do you want to tell your father and get us executed too?

Arthur: So I can help you help him to get out!

Morgana: What?

Arthur: He wrote letters. To his mother. Every time he thought doing magic would get him killed. About all the things he did to save me. Save us. All of Camelot. Probably all of the five kingdoms and beyond as well.

Morgana: You read the letters to his mother?

Arthur: Not the point. There probably have been twice as many occasions he couldn’t write to his mother beforehand. Even he couldn’t see into the future, right?

Morgana: Would that be so bad? Seeing the Future?

Arthur: No, of course not. Maybe he can. I don’t know. Maybe he’s so calm down there because he’s already seen us breaking him out of there. So let’s do this.

Then, together they get him out.

Unbelievable!!!! This is sooooo amazing, you have an incredible talent, skill and endless patience. Absolutely stunning.

This is THE resurection fic in Merlin fandom, i've read it, dare i say, years ago, and still occasionally think about it. This comic does it justice perfectly.

Hi !! I finally come with the promised comic 😁 I started it several months ago, and although there have been days when I haven't known how to move forward, I have had a lot of support from @ineffablesbooks GRACIAS AMIGA!! We are both big fans of Merlin and especially of the INCREDIBLE fanfic that @katherynefromphilly wrote. I don't know what I would have done after finishing s5 without this story, so thank you so much, I love how you write Merlin and Arthur. Anyway, I hope you like this comic as much as I liked doing it. Stay tone, because this is only the first part!! So in a few days there will be part 2, I also don't rule out making more mini comics of other scenes in the future, so wait for it, I hope you like it and enjoy it!!
