You know, with everything we have going on in the world, it is difficult for anyone to understand that transition is difficult enough all by itself. Let me see if I can describe this for the layman. Imagine being hungry, you're three days away from payday, and you have to suffer and wait until you can buy food. You have an inner need to feed yourself with food, everyone has that. The inner need for a transman or transwoman is even greater. For most of us, we have to leave everything we know behind to make our transitions happen. Transmen have things a little easier because they are more accepted. We transwomen on the other hand are fighting for everything we want every day. We have to fight against politics and organized religions that tell us that we are wrong. We have to fight for the correct hormones for our system. Even our dating lives are a fight because we aren't taken seriously as women that just want to fall in love, we are looked at like we are a fettish at best, and abomination at worst. We are persecuted, and treated as just an object, not as women with the same real emotions, needs, and desires as our cis counterparts. I live with this every day, living in the place I love, but knowing our politics are still behind the times. I pray every day for our society to become enlightened. There is still a long way to go. As for my transition, I keep my transition very private. Not many people know about what I'm going through. But as my body finally develops into what is supposed to be, and I prepare for the day that I can finally receive my surgery, I know that there are times that I will continue to be persecuted. And that just makes me sad.
