Apollon understands my beauty. He understands my human sorrow. He will gather my tears and keep them as an unique diamond. He knows my flaws and cherishes them. He sees my cracked skin and kisses it. He chooses to love me back everyday, despite the human mortality. I've met many gods, but His heart is like no other.
I touch His gold-kissed skin and all pain fades away. Nothing exists anymore but Him and His divine presence, the blinding light of His eyes and the softness of His golden hair. I am loved. I've been blessed.
So praised be Apollon, He who dares to love.

And you should, as the core of it all, let go of expectations for your Deities. Let go of what you’ve consumed from the books, let go of authorities, let go of explanations, let go of the neatness - and embrace chaos. Embrace the wilderness which is in itself God, call a name and wait for an answer. What voice sounds like home?
Gods will come multifaceted, iridescent, impalpable. Gods will break rules and expand where a mind burdened by expectations can’t follow. A chimera of a myriad faces might not want to always show only one side. Gods will change. Gods will surprise.
If the nature is untamed, so are its Deities. The wilderness has many names for each of them, a prism to choose a side of. Feeling over explaining, embracing over conforming, preparing over expecting.

important question. do you think the minotaur had a soft wet nose. do you think he mooed when he snored. do you think when theseus turned a sword on him he looked up at his executioner with the same dark, beautiful eyes that earned hera the epithet Βοῶπις

Honestly? The longer I spend on witchblr the more disinclined I am to share much of anything about my practice. People want to be taught but then they respond to posts like
Why do you assume that's not just mental illness? Have you seen a psychiatrist or doctor about that? Let me ask you intrusive questions about your medical history.
This post is BAD because it is UPG! (yes dude, what do you expect? you think your personal practice is universal?)
Ummm, you didn't leave a disclaimer on this post so now I'm going to make a bad faith response about how it COULD be interpreted to be about appropriation!! How dare you write a post that doesn't cover every possible situation??
My personal experience is not like this which means you're an IDIOT and a FAKE!

There's also the fact that a personal practice is... you know... personal. Secrecy is sometimes an important ingredient.

no, listen, when I say I want to integrate more specific solarpunk stuff in my life, i don’t mean to ask for yet again new “aesthetic” clothes that now you have to buy or make to show your support of the movement (screw that i’m consuming enough as it is), or more posts about impossible house goals, or whatever, I’m asking you what my options to build a portable and eco friendly phone charger are, im asking you viable tiny-appartment edible plants growing tricks on a budget,  im asking tips to slow down when my mind and society tell me im not fast enough, i don’t need more rich art nouveau amateurs aesthetics or pristine but cold venus project, okay, i know i should joins associations where I am tho i’m constantly on the move, thanks for that, just, you know, can we get a bit more practical ??? how do I hack my temporary flat into going off the grid for the time i’m here

Kinda in love with the idea that different places on other sides of the world can look so similar. Something something universal human experiences

Hey if any of y'all are still there, I'm stepping away from this account. I've had a really hard to finding the desire to actively worship and it's distanced me from Apollo a lot. Idk it just feels kinda sad now. Anyways thanks for the few followers. Maybe I'll come back eventually but who knows

“I am most myself early in the morning; when the sun slips through cracks in the curtains, when it glows, turns the layer of dust that coats my bookcase into something much less somber and much more romantic, and it’s so much nicer, I think, to believe someone is giving this to me. A figure walking through my apartment, avoiding the places where the floorboards creak, trailing their fingertips over the dining table and painting the wood grain gold.”

Person: What's it like working for Apollo, as someone that's a night owl?
Me: Respectfully…it's a lot. But I love him.

Apollo's celebrations in a nut shell:
[ @trans-hypn0-slut have some information on Apollo days! Enjoy!]
Pyanopsia
"a festival in honour of Apollo, held at Athens on the seventh day of the month of Pyanopsion (October)"
This festival was brought about by Theseus, who promised Apollon a festival/feast if he were to defeat the Minotaur and safely travel to Attica from Delos.
Traditionally, it was celebrated with offerings of meals, jars of honey, olive oil, or laurel. In modern day, we can still use those things as offerings for Apollo. It is encouraged to sing hymns, read his myths, and create an eiresione for the festivities.

Theophania
"The Theophania were intended as a celebration of the return of Apollo to Delphi from which he was believed to be absent during the winter months."
This festival is not widely known about, simply because there isn't much information about it either! Given its context, it can be assumed that Theophania was generally honoring and welcoming Apollo to Delphi from his time away. This is believed to be celebrated on March 21st, the Spring Equinox, with his departing date on December 21st, the Winter Solstice.
Traditionally, it appears that the festival was mostly about displaying an image of Apollo in a sanctuary to worshippers. Today, we can celebrate with fresh offerings, revamping his altar, and perhaps communing with Apollon if he allows it.

Thargelia
"The Athenian Thargelia festival dedicated to both Artemis and Apollo is most famous for picking two scapegoats (φάρμακοι) that were driven out of town to rid it of sins and plagues."
This festival is Artemis and Apollo's birthday, celebrated on the 7th day of Thargelion (May 7th). Though, for clarification, Artemis is actually celebrated on the 6th.
Traditionally, sources say that on the 6th negativity is to be driven out. On the 7th, positivity and goodness is brought in! Disease seems to be a focus during Thargelia, as well as being thankful for Apollo in general. Purification is deeply rooted in this holiday, so in modern day cleansing and feasting can be done. More information on modern festivities can be found in the references!

A Tip For Mentally Ill Devotees
I think this has been said before, but the most effective devotional acts for your god(s) is taking care of yourself. Your deities want what’s best for you before even offerings. I’ve found that I feel a stronger connection with my deities after I’ve taken care of myself (showered, brushed my teeth, drank water, journaled, etc.) than I do when I give them offerings when I haven’t. You can’t devote time to another person/ being when you’re not devoting time to yourself.
I’ve also found that this really helps with my mental health issues. Due to a combination of them, I have very little motivation to do basic stuff like my homework, keeping myself clean, or even taking my medicine. Devoting these acts to deities rather than just doing them for myself makes it way easier for me to get enough motivation to do them.
I seriously can’t recommend this enough. If you are a pagan with mental health problems and you have god(s) or spirit guides or anything you devote actions to, I highly suggest you do these acts for them if you can’t do them for yourself.
Another thing: working with certain deities who are the patrons of things that you need help with is a good idea too, if you feel up to it. For example, if you need help with self-love or even relationship help, Aphrodite might be able to help you, or if you want help being more independent, working with Artemis might be a good idea for you.
Those are some very basic tips, but I figured it might help some of you who struggle like I do :)
