I sort of give the same vibe to the others, especially men” she said with a chuckle. “Shadow-travel? Is like teleportion?” she asked curious. “And yes. We were literally lab rats. He did. We’re superhuman so that’s why we’re not some robots or something like it”.

Nico looked at her, stunned.  Human or no, no one had ever reacted positively to his godly heritage, and he wasn’t sure how to respond to that.  “Yeah...I did.  And strange, I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t...feel fear.”  She was certainly confusing.  “Pretty much.  That’s the easiest way to explain it.  But your creation is an impressive feat.  I mean, I’d assume you are human, even with the flight.”

“Now that is tricky.”  He said.  “I was taken from the the year 201 in the Fourth Era but…translating that to here is…well too much work but I’ve heard the term medieval around so I’m assuming that” 

“So, a different world entirely then.  Must be an interesting adjustment for you.”

Her brows raised slightly and she let out a soft sigh. “I’m sorry, Nico. That does indeed sound rough. I admit, I merely thought they would come to you, ask for help moving on… Not stuff like that.” Persephone sighed softly. “I think you’re brave, Nico. No matter what you may believe. Why do you not think of yourself as normal?”

“They do that sometimes too.  But, yeah.  Life tends to be complicated.  It’s alright though, I’ve gotten used to it.”  Nico shrugged, not wanting to make her feel bad.  He didn’t look at her when she tried to compliment him, looking at the other only when she posed her question.  “Because I’m not?  I’m a demigod, none of us are normal. And then I’m not even normal for a demigod as a son of the Big three.  And Percy and Jason are...well, to put it frankly, golden images of perfection. To say I’m not normal is an understatement.”

“A part of you like?” BC asked not really understand what he meant to say. “My sisters have powers I just kick some villains ass and fly. They do have some nice powers but I don’t mind being the only one without it. I have my fist for it. And no, we’re not superhuman. We’re a lab experiment. Literally”.

“Like my dad is the god of the Underworld and I give off a...I don’t know, aura, of sorts, of fear.  See?”  Releasing what control he had over it, that cold chill of fear would be felt by anyone nearby.  “My abilities are somewhat complicated.  But the shadow-travel is handy at times.  Experiments, really?  And he was able to actually create people?  I mean, you look human to me, no matter how you originated.”

Sanguine flopped on the couch, stretching his back.  “Oh that ? One of the old bard songs…think it’s Ragnar the Red.  Gory ending but goes well with ale” 

Nico cocked his head, now genuinely intriqued by the man.  “Ragnar the red...if you don’t mind my asking, what...time or world did you come from? Before..this.”

BC shrug. “I think it’a understandable. People fear the unknown” she said with another shrug. She nodded. “No problem. My sisters have more powers than me. I just fly and kick ass though. I’m like the muscle of the trio” she said with a chuckle.

“Even if they know, there’s fear.  It’s just... a part of me.”  Nico shrugged, not entirely sure he wanted to go into the “son of the god of the Underworld” speech just yet.  “You have different levels of powers?  Are you deities or just superhuman?  Strength and flight are good skills to have either way.”

Sanguine crawled over the couch and went to the fridge.  He hummed some song the Bards used to sing and then he came back with a bottle of it.  “Here you are” 

Nico took the bottle with a quiet thanks, continuing to study the man.  “So, what’s the song you’re humming?  I can’t say I’ve ever heard it before.”

“Nico drew his sword—three feet of wicked sharp Stygian iron, black as a nightmare. “I don’t agree.” The ground rumbled. Cracks appeared m the road, the sidewalks, the sides of the buildings. Skeletal hands grasped the air as the dead clawed their way into the world of the living. “(Percy Jackson- The last Olympian) - - - I stand for one EPIC ghost king! 🖤 You can’t deny….Nico’s got style. This scene blew my mind. It’s SO epic! I had to do a comic about this. -

Nico chuckled dryly, but shrugged, unable to really argue that.  “I, alright. I’ll take some water, thank you.”

“Yeah I know.  Not many people are open on it.  Nothing wrong with that I guess.  Just I don’t know why anyone would feel…guilty.  It’s normal, it’s life. It’s people man.”  Sanguine hummed.  “I do.  Makes life less drab.”  he sipped his drink until it was gone.  “You sure you don’t want to drink ?”  

“It depends on how their society viewed it I think.  I grew up in a time where it was only acceptable to sleep with one’s wife, and that’s about it.  Any other desires were wrong.  Guilt and some shame comes with that, even if I feel otherwise now.”  Nico shrugged before lifting his eyebrow at the other.  “Yeah...I’m not sure I’m hardcore enough to drink with you.”  He chuckled a little, surprised at how fast he was drinking.

“I mean there’s no shame in it.”  He said and made his drink again.  “It can be quite freeing you know.  Getting into that side of humanity” 

“In truth no, but that doesn’t mean that people still don’t feel shame about it.  Must be nice to be that comfortable.”   Nico gave the man a nod, he himself accepting of his sexuality but still felt twinges of guilt and shame simply because of how the world had been before.  “I’m sure it can.  Not all of us have the charisma or personality to live so freely, but it sounds like you enjoy it.”

“More or less kid.”  He downed his drink then went to get a new one.  “Not to brag but…I’ve always been the fun partying type of the family.”  That’s an understatement but he doesn’t need to know that 

“Anyone who openly has “sexscapades” is the fun one of the family.”  Nico had to chuckle a bit, at least amused by the man even if he found him strange.

“I’m using it as an example.  Not the main focus”  He sipped his drink.  “Well…sometimes if they’re drunk and looking for a good time mainly; or horny people looking for a wild sexscapade…sometimes both but that hasn’t happened in weeks.  You’re the first to pop in like this.”  He said.  

“Weeks huh?’  Nico lifted an eyebrow, but gave him a light smirk.  “Gonna guess you aren’t a new guy then?”  The demigod crossed his arms before continuing.  “Sounds like you lead an interesting life.”

“You’re not looking for friendships if you’re “online dating.” But that’s fair.  Do you often have random strangers show up in your living room?”

“Well it’s a term I’m using.”  Sanguine said, sipping his drink.  “I like meeting people, calling them friends, showing them a good time if they need it.  You, my fine friend, seem like a bundle of nerves”  If Sanguine noticed he didn’t show it.  The prince has seen so many things with his “family”…including Molag Bal and Boethiah’s rivalry and even in the human world with the destruction of their worshippers.  Even Sanguine himself, can be quite scary and powerful when he wants too.  

“Staying alert keeps me alive.  And you call people friends far too easily.  You don’t know anything about me, nor I you.  Just that I’ve randomly entered your apartment.”  Studying Sam, Nico was surprised to see no change in the other’s demeanor, usually able to tell the effects of his presence immediately.  He was almost tempted to actually try and make the other fear him, but Nic decided against it and just pulled the aura back in again, keeping it as ineffective as possible.

“Ah see ?  Closer and closer to becoming friends”  He smiled, making themselves a human cocktail called…an orange martini.  Not what he wants but the secret Daedra concoction needs to be made again.  Ran dry after a bit

“Friends isn’t a term people use for me.”  Nico relaxed his grip on his powers a little, the aura around him that made others fear him strengthening enough the other would notice it.  He kept his hands in his pockets and didn’t do more than that, but it was usually enough to discourage friendship.  “Acquaintances.  Passing interaction...those are more fitting.”
