Late in October of 2021, Gamefuna released what must’ve been their most controversial business decision yet to the Gameworks system: an automatic character generator that built new models off of preexisting assets found in the network’s database. Audiences were obviously thrown off by the blatant usage of A.I., and forums erupted into heated debates on the ethics behind the way the algorithm obtained its results. Then, upon the release of a smaller point-and-click puzzle game using the newfound tool, people were shocked to find that the game’s main antagonist happened to be one of the most tooth-rottenly charming characters the company had produced to date. Dr. Lotar Reeze singlehandedly skyrocketed Conundrum Manor's popularity, and countless of fans were quick to forget all about the initial drama its mechanics had caused.

Funnily enough, not many characters within the Gameworks itself have the slightest understanding of where he came from.

Forever thinking about how FPP's whole jist is that they hate being a vessel they hate merely being a standin for some other guy. They want recognition. They want fame. They just want to be acknowledged for who they are and not who they're meant to be.

And how their gameplay segment isn't devoted to them. It's instead devoted to not only Lionel's story, but everyone else's. They're the one who gets all the lore. They're the ears for Lionel's lies and the eyes to see just what happened to Reggie, in addition to everyone else. They see their development and just exactly what went wrong. But it's never truthfully about them.

And even in the segments where they take center stage, they're still truly a backgrounder.

Vallamir ending? Rust sets it up, and in the end it is literally Vallamir's ending, they just broke the glass so he could take the spotlight.

And their statue?

The vending machines are meant to reveal Jeremiah's lore. This is just an extra bonus.

They never truly get that spotlight bc they're the addendum to everyone else GET ME OUT OF HERE
