Pierre Bezukhov - SFW Alphabet Headcanons

A/N: This is my first time writing for Pierre, so sorry if it feels out of character at all!

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Pierre is generally friendly with most people, so initially it can be difficult to tell if he’s interested in you as more than just a friend. He often shows affection by teasing you with little jokes. He’s generally not very physically affectionate in public, but he may take your hand in his kindly while you sit beside one another and talk.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

He’s loyal and he believes in you with his whole heart. He loves to have casual debates or discussions about politics and philosophy. He also likes to go out and drink, or stay in and drink. He doesn’t tend to cause a lot of trouble beyond the occasional social blunder, but he can be easily led into trouble.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Pierre is a big cuddly teddy bear. He loves laying on his back as you snuggle into his side, resting your head against his chest, his arms wrapped around you.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

He’s hopeless at cooking and cleaning. Any attempts at cooking are disastrous, with the food ending up burnt. His study is even more disastrous, with piles upon piles of books, letters, papers, and knickknacks covering every surface. He keeps the cooking and cleaning up to the servants, though his study is off-limits — he swears up and down that there’s a method to his madness and that his study has an organizational system that only he can understand.

As for settling down, part of him would like that, especially once he met the right person, but another part of him fears it. He feels fairly directionless in his life, and settling down puts pressure on him to make life decisions that he’s been avoiding for years.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

Initiating a breakup would be difficult for Pierre. His face would be beet red as he would stammer. It would take him a long time to get to the point, and he would try to be gentle and civil about it.

F = Fiancé(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

It would take Pierre some time to realize that the nature of your feelings towards him were as serious as his feelings towards you. If he knew in his heart that you were the one, he would commit as soon as possible. He’s an idealist and a romantic at heart, and he dreams of a committed relationship with a partner who loves him as much as he loves them. He couldn’t wait to get married.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

He tends to be very kind and jovial, though he sometimes slips up and says something uncouth — never with any malice, though. Physically he is also gentle despite his clumsiness. He is a bear of a man, but he is a gentle giant.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Pierre is fond of hugs, especially when you initiate them, as it assures him of your feelings towards him. When he receives hugs, he will return them gently, his arms lightly yet securely holding you. When he gives hugs and is overcome with emotion, he sometimes forgets his own strength and crushes you in a great big bear hug, or he will pick you up and spin you around before planting you back on the ground and embracing you.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

He more likely than not wouldn’t say it first. He would be too embarrassed and shy, too afraid that you didn’t feel the same way as he did, so you would have to be the one to say it first. Once you said it, though, he would immediately respond that he loves you too, his eyes filling with happy tears.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

He tends to think the best of people, so he wouldn’t assume the worst between you and anyone else. However, if he did have reason to believe that your interactions with another person were more than just friendly, he would become fixated on it, letting it replay over and over in his head until he’d explode with anger, confronting you with his voice raised or perhaps even challenging the other party to a duel.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

His kisses are genuine and sincere. You can feel his affection in them. They range from soft gentle pecks to sloppy, clumsy, ravenous kisses. He does love to kiss you on the mouth, but also on the forehead. In bed, he loves to kiss your neck and shoulders. In public, he’ll raise your hand to his lips and give it a kiss. Pierre is a bit affection starved, so he likes to be kissed anywhere.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Kids love him because he’s eccentric and not like the uptight adults they’re used to. They think he’s odd and funny, but they can sense he’s good hearted. Pierre is good with children. He treats them as equals and speaks to them at their level without being condescending. He’s genuinely interested in what children have to say, so kids love talking to him. He’s also rather imaginative, so he plays fun games with children.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Pierre generally sleeps in after long nights. He likes lazy mornings, waking up to cuddles and quiet chitchat, and he often requests breakfast in bed.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

He tends to stay up late, either out drinking or pouring over books in his study.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Pierre is a relatively open book. If you show any interest in him or his life, he is more than willing to share information about himself with you. Some others in society gape at his frankness, but you appreciate how open and honest he is.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

He generally is mild mannered and patient, though he has an anger deep down inside of him that can be awoken with treachery or betrayal.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

He can forget the most obvious details, but he can remember some of the most obscure facts that you wouldn’t expect him to have paid attention to.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

There was a time early on in the stage where you weren’t sure if you were just friends or more than friends, and the two of you went ice skating. Pierre had initially resisted as he’s no good at ice skating — too big and clumsy, he claimed — and you assured him that you were no good either but that it would be a laugh. It certainly was, as the two of you were constantly falling, trying to support each other but neither of you being stable, not afraid of looking silly together. He glanced over at you laughing, snowflakes in your hair, your cheeks red from the cold, and he was certain in that moment that he was in love with you.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

He’s pretty protective of you socially. If he heard people spreading rumors about you, he would try his hardest to deny them and protect your honor. He’s not the most adept at fighting, but he would physically fight for you if a situation came to it.

Some people tend to treat him as a big joke, so it would mean a lot to him if, when other people were making fun of him, you spoke up and took him seriously. For example, if he brought up a contrarian opinion and other people guffawed at him, instead of trying to change the subject, you would engage with his ideas in support of him instead of brushing him aside.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

He’s not the greatest at planning romantic gestures like fancy dates, but he shows his affection for you in much more mundane everyday ways, such as finding books he thinks you would like, learning more about topics that interest you, making sure that you’ve eaten, spending time with you, buying you the finest supplies for your hobbies, etc. He has friends who are more involved in society than him and savvy with what’s fashionable, and he would ask them for assistance with planning events such as name day celebrations or anniversaries.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Pierre often speaks without thinking about social decorum. He drinks too much. He tends to live in his head and doesn’t engage with the world around him as much as he should. He goes through phases of wanting to better himself and then slips back often into his old ways of heavy drinking and going out. He is easily swayed into mischief. He is too trusting with people who do not actually have his best interest in heart and gives away his money recklessly.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

He’s a bit awkward when it comes to appearance. He’s already not exactly what one might consider to be classically handsome by society’s standards, and he didn’t expect to come into his fortune as he has been born an illegitimate son, so he doesn’t quite know how to dress. He doesn’t have a natural knack for style, so he often relies on servants and friends to inform him of what is in fashion and might look good on him. He isn’t too concerned about his weight, though. The way he sees it, his belly is a sign of a life well lived with good food, good wine, and good company.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

Yes, he’d feel incomplete without you.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

Pierre usually refuses to dance at parties or balls, usually citing his clumsiness and lack of know-how. You’re the only person who can convince him to dance. He’ll shyly take your hand and let you lead him onto the dance floor.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

In a partner, Pierre is turned off by vanity, cruelty, and selfishness. While he does like a good debate or lively discussion, he wouldn’t like his partner to have morals and beliefs that completely differed from his; he’s idealistic and would like to view your partnership as a unified front where you’re both working towards a shared future.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

Pierre is a night owl. However, once he does fall asleep, he sleeps deeply and snores loudly.
