(TW FOR DISSOCIATION, DEREALIZATION, DEPERSONALIZATION, DEREALITY, AND VENTING)
.
More people need to understand that dissociation isn't just "spacing out".
We are a DID system, and we are very heavily disabled by our dissociation, depersonalization, and derealization. Half the time I am so incredibly disconnected from reality that I can barely move. It isn't just "spacing out", and it isnt cute. Its scary and its destroying my life.

shoutout to systems without innerworlds and systems whose innerworlds function differently than the “norm”.
you aren’t any less of a system because of your innerworld, or lack thereof.

hey just an idea/note for other systems out there
if youre worried about tagging stuff with system tags bc the post isnt directly related to system things, but you still want other systems to find your posts and interact with you etc etc
use the community tags for those posts!!
#did community, #system community, #sysblr, #plural community, #osdd community, etc etc etc!
that way its about being a community and not clogging the system content related tags!!

*maladaptive daydreaming: a mental health issue that causes a person to lose themselves in complex daydreams. these daydreams are usually a coping mechanism for other mental health conditions or adverse circumstances.
Tumblr media
bonus question: how does maladaptive daydreaming affect your alters/innerworld/system as a whole? have you ever daydreamed *about* your system? - amaranth.

Plural culture is loving and hating being plural because I'm no longer alone, but now my body isn't mine, it's ours, I have to share, I can never truly be alone, and that's great, but it's also hard to deal with and get used to.
Plural culture is learning to adjust and love the people whom you share a body and life with, but also just being so tired and frustrated.

Your trauma is valid if it came from having to act like the adult in the family when you were a child.

DID culture is being more interested in your internal world/headspace than the external world. Just totally and genuinely being uninterested in anyone or anything outside of your system.
