Runeterra Saurian Musings

Don't mind me just musing on reptilian things in a card game

Basilisks are described in Sisterhood of War as "saurians" with not much information gleaned otherwise, however LoR released a card last year called Glacial Saurian. Could be the species name, unsure atm, but that naming convention implies the two belong to the same group, be it species, family, clade or whatever.

There's also this red-barbed razormace. This one isn't described as a saurian in any regard, but given it's similar body type and general physiology to the basilisk and glacial saurian, it's easy to extrapolate. Size isn't really an issue either because basilisks are known to grow to ridiculous sizes cuz they kinda just don't stop growing. Generally what put it in my perview here was that it's a large reptile used as part of the Noxian war machine, which matches basilisks to a tee.

There's also this mount belonging to Armed Acquisitioner, which is another reptile, albeit this one doesn't look suitable to ride and is just way weirder. Got the body of a lizard and a snake combined. Harder to figure in relation to whether it's a saurian or not, just cuz there's nothing but a visual here; no description at all.

Since basilisks are native to Ixtal and glacial saurians to the Freljord whatever classification of animal this is has a good range of environments it can live in. Razormace looks like you'd pretty easily find it in Shurima or central valoran. The unnamed snakey one looks like it'd be a jungle species to my eye, 'specially since it's being used in a desert environment.
