Lesson 9 (sixth day) - Educaplay

For this lesson we have chosen the platform “Educaplay” because it is a very easy option to create our own games for children to use as a tool of knowledge for them to work with them all kinds of topics.

As an online platform, we don’t need to download anything, so I think that is a good advantage because is more accessible tthan other types of apps or programs. 

At “Educaplay” we have a big variety to create different activities. That is another advantage, because for example as teachers it offers us many possibilities, and for children it becomes more fun and less boring, since they can play different games and not always the same. So, at “Eduaplay” we can find for example: Crosswords puzzle, order words, alphabets soups, relate columns, alphabet soups, riddles, matching columns, activities to complete, dictations, videoquiz, among others.

Another aspect to take into account, in that we can use this programe in different lenguages such as Spanish, French, English, Italian, Dutch and Portuguese, so that is perfect for us.

To find the program according to what we were looking for, in our case we used Google Chrome to search it with the following words in spanish: “cómo crear actividades educativas”, and we entered in the in sixth option of the first page, where we found "Educaplay” as the best option.

We decided to create a crossword game. The link to our activity is the following one:

We think that this kind of games make the children to put into practise the concrentration and to focus in the objective (find all the words). We add a short definition of all of them to make them to give clues to find the exact word that fits and also to make them understand better the meaning.

We also believe that crossword puzzles make the kids learn the vocabulary, more quickly, become familiar with it, learn how to write it and its meaning by having fun. In our case we made the crossword puzzle based vocabulary related to the TRAIN, because our topic is “Means of transports”. The words that we include in our game are: “wheels”, “station”, “wagon”, “seat”, “door”, “platform”, “train driver” and of course “train”.

New Community

My class group and I have created a new Community with the intention that our work reaches more people and we are many more in the way of teaching and learning. What better way than using social networks!  

We will focus on the topic of “The Means of Transport”, as I have been posting about it here, because we believe it is a very useful topic in a class of children from 3 to 6 years old.

 What is Twitter?  Why Twitter?

Twitter is a really useful social network that everybody knows and that have the advantage of transmit any kind of information very quickly to the rest of the world.

We choose Twitter because we truly think that worldwide it is one of the social networks that work best and that more people use in their daily life, so we can transmit our messages and information to more people more easily, and taking into account the type to of content that we want to publish Twitter it going to be the most comfortable for us and also, for our followers. 

Personally, I think that the use of virtual learning communities is a way to adapt our selves to the times in which we live, were the use of technology is the order of the day around us, for example with the use of tactile boards in class , projectors, tablets for students as educational use, etc... but not only in the educational field, since nowadays children are very familiar with a mobile phone or a computer and at very early ages they know how to use them without any difficulty; therefore it is a way to develop in education and teaching, since social networks and all these resources can be a good learning and teaching instrument if they are used properly under supervision and for the necessary time. It is a way to take advantage of something very useful and simple to use to everyone.

Hi guys one more time!

A. Last week I took this photo with my mobile for public here in my account with the intention of relate the means of transport with our daily life. This is a very tipical bus of my country that I easily can see every day around my environment.

We can do this kind of examples with children in a class for make them to understand better what “Means of transport” means and where they can find them.

Means of transport

 Hi everyone! 

Today I’m going to post for you new content about "Means of transport", a very useful topic for a class of children to 3- 6 years old. 

A. First of all, I put an image of the most basic vocabulary you can find of the topic, as an introduction to this post.

B. Then, in the first link will take you to an specific web page that you can use as a resource for your students or children to learn the vocabulary of transport in English. You can find here activities, different kind of vocabulary about the topic and some tips.

C. And, the second link will take you to a pdf document with a very extensive vocabulary about “Means of transport”. 

I think that all about this post can be a very good tool for you to see all the useful options you have to teach this topic to children. Also, there is a lot of variety of information and activites that will be the perfect references for you for sure.

Hi guys, my  name is Laura, i am  new in tumblr and i never had a blog or something similar, so sorry in advance…

I am a student of pre-primary education in the URJC University in Madrid. This blog can be very useful for you if you are interesting in things about education or if you are teachers you can visit my blog for taking ideas for children or as a tool or resource.
