Moon Phase Guide ✨
hi! I threw together a general list of moon phases and how they can best be utilized when working with magick. Many witches/magick practitioners like to work their rituals around specific phases, due to the certain energy it may bring!:
🌙 Waxing Crescent: new beginnings, starting projects, future plans
🌙 First Quarter: attracting outside forces into your own life (money, people, success)
🌙 Waxing Gibbous: finishing abandoned projects, giving new birth to your strength, and gaining a general “boost”
🌙 Full Moon: major changes, extra power, the “all-purpose” phase (the “quartz” of moon phases)
🌙 Waning Gibbous: repelling negativity, deep cleaning of your surroundings, objects, or soul
🌙 Third Quarter: energy to overcome obstacles
🌙 Waning Crescent: ridding of meaningless projects, relationships, etc; clearing your life of chaos and stress
🌙 Dark Moon: banishment of strongly negative things; soul-searching, powerful divination

Sabbat Guide : Samhain.
So i wanted to write a series on the sabbats of the year and since Samhain is coming up i decided to start with that!
Samahin = 31st October - 1st November
Samhain which is also know as halloween or all hallows eve. Its often known as the celebration of the dead as the sabbat represents the year passing.
It is known as the time when the veil that separates the land of living and the land of the dead is lifted. Which is why the tradition is to use this time to celebrate and honour those who have passed.
How You Can Celebrate
Ancestor Altars.
This is an Altar which you decorate with pictures of ancestors and loved ones who have passed away. Gather belongings of those who you want to honour and place them on your Altar to represent them and to represent the past.
Bonfires.
Building a bonfire is a great activity, then on pieces of paper write down a bad habit that you want to leave behind and throw it into the fire or write wishes down and throw them into the fire so they come true in the new year Alternatively if a bonfire isn't possible this can be down with a candle.
Apple Divination.
Take an apple and peel off a strip. Throw the strip over your shoulder. Turn around and the letter the apple peel forms is the letter than your true loves name starts with.
Hazelnut Divination.
Carve a question you want answered into a hazelnut (it has to be yes or no.) Then place the hazelnut next to the fire. If it pops the answer is no, if it doesn't pop the answer is yes.
Visit The Grave Of Loved Ones.
Leave a gift of pumpkins, sweet cakes, apples, hazelnuts or flowers by the graves. You can say a few words of remembrance or just have a conversation.
Ceramic Skull Painting.
You can usually find these at craft stores. Painting these skulls and dedicating them to a passed one and place it on your Altar.
Communicating With The Dead.
Honour the spirit world and contact any passed ones you want to speak with. Leave a plate of food out for them and light candles. Also you can use Divination to receive messages from the dead (such as tarot.)
Samhain Correspondences.
Herbs : Acorns, Apple, Catnip, Deadly Nightshade, Heather, Hazel, Mandrake, Rosemary, Pomegranate and Pumpkin.
Foods : Pumpkin Pie, Apples, Sweet Cakes, Breads, Pears, Porks, Beans, Pomegranate, Grains, Turnips, Corn, Gingerbread and Mulled Wine.

Samhain Prayer
This is used as a prayer to your ancestors :
This is the night when the gateway between
our world and the spirit world is thinnest.
Tonight is a night to call out those who came before.
Tonight I honor my ancestors.
Spirits of my fathers and mothers, I call to you,
and welcome you to join me for this night.
You watch over me always,
protecting and guiding me,
and tonight I thank you.
Your blood runs in my veins,
your spirit is in my heart,
your memories are in my soul.
With the gift of remembrance.
I remember all of you.
You are dead but never forgotten,
and you live on within me,
and within those who are yet to come.
